The homeless rely on their feet as their main mode of transportation. Keeping their feet clean and dry is important to their overall well being. Foot health is even more of a concern if they are diabetic or have other circulatory problems.

For the winter months we are also collecting gloves and hats.

Hey Yall!

I recently shot a music Video for "Cumberland Angels". It's so amazing for so many different reasons. I have never shot a music video before, so first times are always fun! This particular song is my heart, so I am hoping to really get it out there. Three years ago I stayed in an empty apartment in downtown Nashville. I was sleeping on an inflatable mattress on the floor with my three Pomeranians. That being said, I had to walk them three or four times a day. It was the end of summer and very hot! There was always a lot of homeless people hanging out on blankets down by the river. I ignored them for a couple of weeks, but they always tried to pet my dogs... and to be honest they made me nervous... especially at night. As time went on though, I became friendly with them and my heart began to melt. I started hanging out with them on a blanket, listening to their stories, and I truly felt the presence of God.

There was this one man who stood out with his mischievous smile and joking manner. His name was Booger Love. I began walking the streets of Nashville with him, he taught me so much about the street and the way things worked. He had this dream of a program for helping people get back on their feet. Everyone knew who he was and I have never been so proud to be seen with someone in my whole life. I wanted so bad to help these people out. I eventually had to get out of there. I was getting too deep and I knew I couldn't save these people no matter how hard I wanted to. I also knew I wasn't too far off from being one of them. I have been a struggling artist for so long. I just felt helpless. Three years later I wrote "Cumberland Angels." When we shot the video I was on the look out for Booger Love. He was no where to be found. I did come across a couple of people who knew him and said that they had not seen him in years... I would love to start a Booger Love Foundation someday, to help the homeless get back on their feet, at least the ones who want help!

OK...Booger Love Foundation sounds a little funny...I know, how 'bout "the B. Love Foundation"...as in "Be Love"...just ask Jesus, there is no better way to be.

ps. as we showed up downtown to shoot this video with the homeless, we had no plans and no idea what we were in store for. THERE THEY WERE THE UGLY NEGATIVE POSTERS PLASTERED IN ALL THE WINDOWS... "PLEASE HELP DON'T GIVE" MY HEART DID GYMANASTICS! WE WENT AROUND ASKING THE HOMELSS THERE VIEWS ON IT.. WHEN SOMETHING TOUCHES MY HEART LOOK OUT.... I AM ABOUT TO SET THESE POSTERS ON FIRE....
