Blow Quartet met for the first time on Fat Tuesday, 2000 and proceeded to record live to 2-track an entire album entitled "Channeling Fat Tuesday". The title is appropriate considering at that very moment Fat Tuesday celebrations were peaking all across the Crescent City of New Orleans. But in a rehearsal hall 385 miles away in the heart of Little Five Points, Atlanta, Jeff Bradley (acoustic bass), David Dean (trombone), Stan Satin (alto saxophone), and David Watkins (drums) picked up those vibes and laid them down intuitively in the songs herein. Containing free form improvisational bluesy jazz idioms reminiscent of the legendary Art Ensemble of Chicago, The Blow Quartet indeed channeled Fat Tuesday.
