This is part one of a very true story.................. Unlike most artists today Bray did not begin singing at the tender age of five. Bray's gift of music began in the Garinger High School marching band. Where he played alto saxophone until one fateful day in 1992, when someone stole it. Bray was so frustrated that he didn't even want to play anymore. It wasn't until the summer of 1992 that Bray knew he wanted to sing. Every night he would listen to a late night radio show called the" Quiet Storm". Bray would listen as people called in their special request for love songs and dedicate them to those near and dear to them. As he listened every night he would occasional imitate what he heard, and one day while Bray was exercising on the stair master down stairs , his father heard what he thought was the radio playing "A Change Gone Come" by Sam Cooke. When he yelled for Bray to turn the music down it got louder! Bray was wearing a walkman and was not aware that he was singing to the point where everyone upstairs could hear him. So when his father walked down stairs and discovered that Bray was actually singing and not the radio playing, everyone in the house stopped what they were doing, just to listen to him sing. Bray's voice sounded so close to the real thing, he decided to join the school choir. And that's how it all began................... Bray began singing professionally in 1994 with the six member gospel group Soothin' Touch. In 1997 they released the single "Make Me Over," with the single being released the group was invited to perform at various venues in and the around the state. Making many appearances the group gained some notoriety, to the point where they were asked to perform in 1999 at Ovens Auditorium for a gospel concert featuring local talent from the Charlotte area. Soothin Touch was known for their great harmony and lively performances. But after eight years of ups and downs and constant personnel changes, they still longed for their big break. Unfortunately, in 2002 the group Soothin' Touch disbanded. Bray along with two former members of Soothin' Touch later formed the R&B trio Seduction. Once again the group was known in and around the Charlotte area and they even made appearances in the New York and DC areas. They had an uptown urban look. And their sound was very good. The ladies loved them! But due to a lack of focus with other members of the group and very bad management they too went their separate ways. Bray, on the other hand never lost his focus he remained true to what he believed in, real R&B music. Bray grew tired of trying to get studio time and paying for not so great production work. Bray soon realized he had to make a change. He learned what he could from working with other producers in and around town. He really read the books and taught himself how to mix, edit and create his own tracks. So he bit the bullet and got his own equipment and converted the spare bedroom in his home to make his own little studio. Now that he can focus on his solo career. Bray, has joined forces with his current producer Don Mac.Together they have created a smooth and seductive sound that gets the attention of young and old alike. They have combined neo-soul, R&B and hip-hop to create a sound that is truly their own. Bray has done his own market research in the Charlotte, DC and Atlanta clubs to get a feel for what the public wants to hear. In early 2003 Bray was on vacation in Las Vegas, went to some clubs and they let him perform and he discovered there is room for him in the music industry. The question was asked in Las Vegas, "Why aren't you signed to a record label?" His reply, "Chance and Opportunity have yet to meet." But he will never give up on the dream of making his brand of music to be heard all around the world and back again. And someday he hopes that people will call their favorite radio station and request that his love songs be played. Bray, is a true star in the making. BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR PART TWO OF THIS VERY TRUE STORY.
~~ 7 %~~ A Holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said, 'Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like .... The Lord led the holy man to two doors. He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table.. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew, which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water. The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful. But because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths. The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering. The Lord said, 'You have seen Hell. They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking. The holy man said, 'I don't understand. 'It is simple,' said the Lord. 'It requires but one skill. You see, they have learned to feed each other. The greedy think only of themselves.' When Jesus died on the cross, he was thinking of you. Its estimated 93% won't forward this. If you are one of the 7% who will, forward this with the title '7%' . I'm in the 7% ~~ I will always share my spoon with you. ~~ xoxoxo. CORINA
