Dubbed a "joint musical sandwich," Bill Brickey, Steve Levitt and Jimmy Tomasello have diverse musical backgrounds and tastes, but when they hit the stage, it all comes together. With Tony Dale and John Abbey on drums and bass, a BLT show becomes an experience, a musical journey, a deeply satisfying meal!
Sets range from classic rock, blues, R&B, folk, spontaneous parodies, funk, contemporary styles and originals. Songs sometimes weave in and out of each other during a show..."Smells Like Teen Spirit" becomes "Hang On Sloopy." "Lay Down Sally" turns into "Mustang Sally" into "Long Tall Sally" into "Sneakin’ Sally Down The Alley." The fellas are on their toes and keep the audience there with them!
As an added attraction, BLT willingly takes requests. "Like the weather in Chicago, if you don’t resonate with how it’s goin' just wait a few minutes."
BLT hails from the teaching rank and file of the Old Town School of Folk Music. In fact, between these three musical musketeers, in the last twelve years, thousands and thousands of folks in the Midwest have relished the joys of "homemade music."
Big fun seeing you all at Lincoln Square last night. Nothing better on a sizzling hot summer night than live music. Y'all rocked the Casbah. Helen and Joel
