(IDM) Ich gehe eigentlich immer sehr skeptisch an neue Releases heran. Oftmals bekommt man ein Cover mit schönen Pixelgrafiken, aber nur langweilige NES-Songs in schlechter Soundqualität. Ich hatte hier nicht mit diesem genialen Sound gerechnet. Plötzlich ballerte
mir Prog-Rock aus den 1970ern, Chips aus den 1980ern und Acid-Techno aus den 1990ern um die Ohren. Genau diese Gratwanderung aus elektronischen Klängen und den Prog-Rock-Einlagen in „Further Hearts“ und die Reise durch die elektronische Musik in „Snow / Glitter / Data 3“ machen dieses Album besonders, denn hier ist viel Kreativität und Zeit investiert worden. Ich hoffe, wir werden in den nächsten Jahren noch einiges von Carl Brown hören!

On écoute, on trouve ça un peu étrange et assez chiant sur les quelques premières secondes et puis la batterie (s’il en est...) rentre et là on trouve ça cool... Et puis ça se développe en douceur, sans trop faire chimères, et puis... et puis... et puis on se sent bien en fait...
L’éléctro de Someone Else oscille entre de nombreux styles de musiques éléctroniques (on dirait en tout cas...), la grande tendance fera cependant ressurgir à tout les amateurs de vieux jeux vidéos (20 ans oui il paraît que c’est vieux...) des souvenirs des musiques de leurs jeux favoris. Il n’y a aucune reprises non, non, non, ça c’est bon pour les vidéos sur YouTube, mais par contre on sent toute l’influences que ces musiques moche en midi on eut sur la tête pensante de Someone Else. Finalement on vogue dans une ambiance bon enfant, très fraîche qui surprend par sa qualité et sa bonne humeur. Les claviers sont assez cheap et n’essayent surtout pas de passer pour des vrais, c’est déjà ça. Le son est bon et répend la joie et l’allégresse, en nous invitant à faire l’amour et pas la guerre...non.
Les morceaux sont relativement court et pour tout vous dire j’en voudrait plus, cela dit il n’y a rien en trop, rien à jeté, rien de répétitif et lourdingue, aucune longueurs, bref que du bonheurs. La voix fait quelques incursions très remarquées car surprenante et des plus réussies...
Mention à John’s Amental Bogler, pour son hystérie complètement hard-tech qui finit en beauté ce EP.

-I was part of Ilkae for about a day, I never collaborated with Aaron. Shoulda done, then I'd be out on Merck.

-I was going to have an album out on Tippex Records, which was to be a sister label of Planet-Mu, but that's not gonna happen anymore, the label only produced a promotional download mix. I'm on that.

-Max Tundra once played one of my tracks on his radio show. He's nice.

btw - I "sort of" met you at the BF weekender when my girlfriend stopped to talk to you but I didn't realise it was you till she told me halfway up the road haha!
Sorry if my efforts have disappointed you. You do realize, though, that cutting down every artist you come across (reading your reviews on your blog) doesn't make your own efforts sound any less like a beaten path. Good luck.
