More About Me
I'm a graduate archaeologist - my interests are Weponry, Warfare and Metallurgy, and the Bronze and Iron Ages in Southeast Asia, Continental Europe, and South America. My reseach project for my honours was based in Southeast Asia (mainly Thailand so far) and revolved around a burial practice of intentional mutilation of weapons.. they have been said to be "killed" by previous researchers, and that is what I am investigating.. basically its just arrows and spearheads which have the blade bent upon itself LOL
I am a fantasy fanatic, favourite authors are Laurell K Hammilton, Kelley Armstrong, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Nora Roberts, David Gemmell, Raymond E Fiest, Charles de Lint, and more. I may read a lot of fantasy, and a fair bit of SF and Horror, but I also watch it too LOL The Crow is my favourite movie, but Queen of the Damned, Brotherhood of the Wolf, Star Wars, etc are running close behind! genres I am into are fantasy, sf, horror, action, anime, bollywood, asian cinemotography, and i love B grades movies - but i also have a girly failing when it comes to chickflicks LOL
My favourite music genres tend to lean towards metal, industrial and the gothic.. Music is such a big part of my life, and my tastes can be quite eclectic.. I mean just in the genre of metal there are so many different sounds! I also enjoy lighter music, such as Tori Amos, Jeff Buckley and folk music etc

I am fairly artistic - if i am not mucking around on the computer or reading you will find me working in my art journal - I sketch, printmake, paint, use oil pastels and soft pastels as well as charcoal. I am also obsessed with photography - bought a new camera, and now take both arty shots and stock.. My favourite artists are Luis Royo, Victoria Frances, and others Alan Lee, Brian Froud, Arthur Rackham, Y Kinko Craft, Susan Seddon Boulet and then Van Gogh, Salvidor Dali and Waterhouse. However, i have discovered many amazing artists at deviantart.com and they are probably more reflective of my tastes.. I grew up on 120 acres of Australian bush, and I have a love for nature that runs deep. I grew up ridding horses everyday, bushwalking, exploring, swimming in creeks in summer and sitting in front of a roaring fire in winter. I love moonlight walks by myself out in the bush - the stars are just so cold and clear of a night when u are far from surburbia.. I love it.. pieces of me slowly die when I am away from Nature.. But I also am addicted to the internet (you can thank univeristy for that) so going back to my 120 acres of bush is hard as we only have solar power - and no internet!!! We breed wolfhounds, and currently have Lady and Khan. I have one brother and my parents are still together. I have a bunch of mates, and a handful of best friends I cant live without.. although I am trying.. Five years of uni, then in 2007 I moved to sydney for an archaeology dig.. eventually realised I couldnt afford to live on the pay my possition entitled me to, and started looking for something more stable. Worked for Greenpeace for a little while (LOVED IT!) but that didnt last, and now i work for an IT Consultancy firm in the city. That isnt the end of the dream though. I have plans to go on and do my Masters in a few years - my area of interest is metallurgy and weaponry in Thai prehistory. Currently am thinking of either ANU in Canberra, or the University of Otago in New Zealand for my Masters - but you never know where life will take you.. As long as it contains archaeology I will be happy :)
I have Fibromyalgia, and have since I was eleven - that is 13 years now of physical hell.. but it has made me who I am :) I also have a diagnosis of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.. check out
