Music
Kamelot, Epica, Nightwish, Pagan's Mind, Brainstorm, Beautiful Sin, Ayreon, Star One, Valkyre...etc., but also Arch Enemy, Dimmu Borgir and I like to listen to older rock too (Ted Nugent, The Scorpions, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, etc.)
Lead Guitarist Arjen Anthony Lucassen of Stream of Passion (ex-Bodine, ex-Vengeance) is the mastermind behind the band. Although he's no longer a bandmember, he's still connected to Stream of Passion in many ways. His main project was, is, and stays Ayreon, but has (had) other great projects too, like the Star One project. To know more about this very symphatic man, be welcome to visit his website.
Arjen really deserves a huge, big, big, big banana !
Some of my Favourite vocalists :
Female Vocalist Marcela Bovio of Stream of Passion has a tremendous beautiful voice.
Combined with her sisters voice (Diana Bovio), it's just the perfect duet !
Roy Khan, vocalist of Kamelot has the greatest voice to me
Jorn Lande (vocalist for many projects) has the most powerfull metalvoice to me
Floor Jansen, female vocalist for After Forever has the most powerfull voice to me (together with her sister Irene). She's also the most friendly and sympathic female vocalist I ever met. She has a nice character and is always smiling and is always in for fun!
Marjan Welman, female vocalist for Autumn, Elister and the last Ayreon project has the combination of most beautiful, pure and powerfull voice at the same time to me (and that's very rare). She's also very friendly and sympathic, always busy as a bee ;-), she has a nice character, is always smiling and is always in for fun too!
Simone Simons, female vocalist for Epica has the most beautiful female soprano voice to me (and yes, she has a very beautiful appearance too ;-p)
Shagrath
(Stian Thoresen), grunter for Dimmu Borgir, has the greatest gruntvoice to me
(together with Mark Jansen from Epica)
Angela
Gossow, female grunter for Arch Enemy, has the greatest female gruntvoice to me.

About myself :
When I was at the age of 18, I listened to Hardrock (e.g. Deep Purple), Psychedelic Rock (e.g. Pink Floyd), Symphonic Rock (e.g. Kayak) and Cosmic- or Synthesizer music (e.g. Tangerine Dream). As I grew older, also music had changed. New Wave and Punk Rock changed the whole musicscene, and I became funned of Depeche Mode and the Sex Pistols. Slowly, extreme musicstyles (e.g. hardrock and punk) melted together... hard rock became metal and bands like Iron Maiden and Motorhead changed the scene. Eventually, it was Metallica that changed how metal sounded; the sound became far more dynamic. On the other hand hard rock stood by itself and became more symphonic. Bands like Boston proved that melodic rock wasn't dead either. European bands like Sky, Earth and Fire, Kayak invented a completely new sound. They combined classical music and rock into symphonic rock. Goth metal added a voice to this sound, and that's where we stand nowadays. From a totally different side came another genre : "Trash". This was hi-speed metal: for example played by Sepultura and followed System of a Down and Korn, their voices sounded very raw and their play was sometimes very fast...it developed continiously and eventually "GruntRock" was born. Nowadays, there are so many rockstyles, but I like them all..
In June 2007 I got an email from my daughter about the next Female Metal Voices Fest in Wieze, here in Belgium. I went to this FMVF website where I found the band lists for Friday the 19th October and Saturday the 20th October. When I looked at these lists, there where a few bands I didn't know of, so I went looking about information on them. Through their MySpace websites, I found much information about many good bands like Epica (and through them Kamelot), After Forever, Nightwish, etc. I liked their music, and was suprized that we even had a good bands in Belgium. But the breakthrough came with the discovery of Stream of Passion (looking onto the net for other female fronted bands). I liked them a lot because of their unique style, the unique voice of Marcela Bovio, and the violin that could be heared through these songs. Later on I discovered Ayreon through Stream of Passion's former guitarist Arjen Lucassen (now Eric Hazebroek) who set up and launched Stream of Passion. As of today I own every (normal buyable) album of Stream of Passion, Ayreon and Star One (another great project of Arjen Lucassen). Arjen Lucassen has three projects : Ayreon, Star One, Ambeon (Stream of Passion isn't a project, but a band). The third project of Arjen, called Ambeon, is not my cup of tea (only one album of it came out). The second former (female) guitarist of Stream of Passion, Lori Linstruth, I like a lot too. Her guitarplay is just awesome!!! She plays on the last Ayreon album 01011001, together with Michael Romeo. She's now Arjen's personal manager! It's thanks to the projects of Ayreon, which contains many good vocalists of other bands, I got to know these other bands too, like Symphony X, Katatonia, Blind Guardian, etc. I hope Arjen Lucassen will create a second Star One album again (again with Damian Wilson, Russel Allen, Robert Soeterbroek, Floor & Irene Jansen and Joost van den Broek. I just loved the first album of Star One, can't wait for the next...
Who I'd like to meet:
I would like to meet all the musicians and vocalists of my favourite bands, but my time is so limited that I can't visite all those gigs too often. I already met some bandmembers (Pagan's Mind, Brainstorm, After Forever, Arjen Lucassen and projectmembers, Stream of Passion), some even a few times and other fans of those bands/projects too, but I like to meet musicians and vocalists of many other bands too.....
A band I really like is Beautiful Sin
(with our own Magali Luyten
as Female vocalist). Here are some of the other bands/projects I really like (behind this list could be many, many more like Firewind, Brainstorm, Pagan's Mind, Edguy -> Tobias Sammet (Avantasia), Gotthard (Swiss band), Blind Guardian, Katatonia, etc. and darkmetal like Arch Enemy, Dimmu Borgir, Agalloch, etc.
Thanks for accepting my add request (so quickly) and welcome to my space. Great profile you've got. Have a great new week, keep on rocking! Cheers from The Netherlands, PRF.
