  • Bio

Blue Diamond Fillups formed in 2009 as a foot stomping, roots rocking, pedal to the metal rockabilly band. Blue Diamond's front man and vocalist, Flash Ricketts has performed in heavy rock and country bands. He also had his own early Elvis show band, called "Little Elvis and the Memphis Mafia", which performed in Nashville's prestigious Grand Ole Opry. Oakland native Jonnie Zaentz is a guitarist with more than a decade long history of playing and touring the country. As the band's leader Jonnie's vision was to create a band that would perform the traditional rockabilly music in addition to incorporating a more raw and aggressive edge. The line-up also includes Santa Rosa's Josh Fossgreen, the band's bass player. His unique skill as a player provides the backbone for the band's rockin' sound. No rhythm section would not be complete without a drummer, San Leandro's Mark Viada who has strong ties to the Bay Area Music Community, provides a solid backbeat creating a well-rounded rhythm section. It's not hard for Blue Diamond Fillups to get a crowd up and dancing. BDF has also had the pleasure to share the stage with numerous luminaries in the Bay Area Americana music scene including: The B Stars, Los High Tops, Kit & The Branded Men, Doo Wop Cowboys, Blue Note Cats, Cowboy Casanovas, Ghost Town Hangmen, Lost Dog Found, Gold Diggers, The Revtones, Ruby Dee & The Snake Handlers and The Dave Crimmen Band.: Car Shows: Laf a Lots Car Club, Last Originals Car Club, Arroyo Car Show – Hayward, Foothill Cruiser – El Dorado Hills, May Madness – San Rafael, Bon Air Center Classic Car Show – Greenbrae.
