Blue Feather is a tale of two singer/songwriters. . .
Nicholas James Thomasma was born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI.
Liz Dieleman was born and raised in Holland, MI.
On February 14th, 2007 Liz met Nik at an open mic night. The two had an immediate connection and began performing shows together almost immediately. It didn't take long to realize that their voices blended well and their musical styles were a match. They started writing songs together the following winter which would become the groundwork for their first album. They decided to call themselves Blue Feather based on the theory that it is possible to create your own reality, a belief that both hold strong to this day.
The album, produced by Greg Baxter (Karisa Wilson, Ralston Bowles, Dan Tedesco) features Kurt Schmgiege on drums, Karissa Wilson on violin, Martha Keenbaum ..o, Jason Lester on Trombone, Pete Weatherhead on pedal steel, Dustin Anderson on drums and Greg Baxter plays bass, electric guitar and percussion.
People have called them everything from folk to country to rock and pop, but when asked what style of music they play both are hesitant to give a short answer. They feel that it's just good music, whatever style you choose to call it.
