.. .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .... .. .. “All (is) Blues!” In a nutshell BLUE GEORGE can describe his style. The reference to the well-known Miles Davis-tune is well chosen. Over many years the Blues-guitarist and songwriter dealt with different musical styles, i.e. Jazz, Rock and Funk, in order to find his own “round and warm guitar tone” (Gitarre & Bass) for his very specific mix of Blues & Soul. Born 1966 in Milano (I) he was brought up in a musical household with songs by Duke Ellington, Ray Charles and Chuck Berry. Aged 15 he moved to Germany and made his second home in Cologne. He took every given chance to be on stage, took Jazz-lessons (Axel Zinowski/ Münster, Frank Haunschild/ Köln) and flew over to New York City for participating in jazz- and blues-workshops. In the US he discovered his passion for the Blues, as being played by the “ancient masters”, esp. B.B. King and Albert Collins. Them and also bluesy playing Jazz musicians like Wes Montgomery and John Scofield shaped his guitar playing lastingly. His latest published CD („in between“, Fox Music, FMC 0327991) is his personal summit and successful mix of styles: „... a Blues-, Jazz- and Soul-album, that’s pretty tough!“ (Dirk Föhrs, blues-news). At the moment BLUE GEORGE and his band are on tour. His characteristic sound, consisting of driving Blues-sound, elegant Jazz-harmonics and cool Soul-groove, is exactly what clubs and festivals ask for: … BLUE GEORGE is able to create a musical analogy to nowadays’ attitude towards life!” (breminale festival).
