The Blue Ghost is a band from Kilkenny City. They have been together for the past six years and in that time they have experimented with many different sounds and beats to perfect a sound which is unique and which gives them an edge on most current bands around today. Blue Ghost are "dance" music, yes, but this doesn't come close to defining what they do. You can dance to it, sure; the beats are there, subtle, shifting, funky and thunderous. But it is also electronica, psychedelic and soul music. Described by NME editor Ben Knowles as a "spaced beautiful narcotic adventure into the 72% of the human brain we don't normally use"
Davey Holland is a music encyclopaedia. Accomplished musician; he plays keyboards, guitar, trumpet and is a master manipulator of samples and blips. He is also the lead vocalist in the band.
Jeremy Hickey is a percussion machine; every sound is to him, every beat, srape and scrape is there or not there for a reason. He is a very important drummer (Keith Moon, John Bonham & Stephen Morris ) a vital part of the equation.
Alan Montgomery sound engineer/bass player. Alan is an accomplished bass player from bands such as Revelino and the Dixons. He was originally sound engineer but has now joined the band as bass player.
Caroline Baker; Guest Vocalist, the soothing presence of a lady, a siren that puts that final touches to the hitherto male machine.
The band is often joined by a three-piece brass section(The Horns Of Dilemma), Davey has since taken to pre-recording his keyboards and samples.
Blue Ghost have supported Moloko, Norman Jay, The Alabama 3, The Idiot Boys, Morcheba, Dave Clarke, The Advent, The Flying Burrito Brothers and Caged Baby. Last September Blue Ghost played Electric Picnic Festival in Stradbally, Co. Laois. and they produced a fantastic performance which saw five hundred people in the Electric Arena at one o'clock in the afternoon which gives an indication of their strong following. Only modesty, history, class and versatility could cope with such a diverse tall order as that. To date they have completed two successful tours of London including headlining the legendary Heavenly Social and numerous gigs around Ireland.
Hailing from the ancient seat of Kilkenny, Davey Holland, Jeremy Hickey, Alan Montgomery and Caroline Baker are set to spread electronic beats all over classifications and limitations; THE SOUND OF THE PAST, PRESENT & THE FUTURE FUSED IN THE HERE AND NOW !

I just uploaded the two songs that didn't make the final cut for the album. Hve a listen. This'll be the last time I put anything up before the album comes out. We're going to master it in Abbey Road on the 11th December!! AT LAST!
I just stuck up two new songs on my page there. After this there are only two more to go and then the whole album will have been put up (not all in one go though, obvioulsy).
Have a listen and let me know what you think. Hope you like them! My current favourite is up there too...
Sorry bout the group mail (despite your name being cunningly added into the first line. How did I do that?)
Anyways, stuck up some new recordings of songs we did in the album session in Electrical Audio. None of the songs are mastered yet and there are a couple of tweaks here and there to be done but I thought I"d stick em up so you could get a listen before the album is released.
I"m gonna rotate the songs on an as unyet decided basis (weekly, biweekly, triweekly even??) and include songs that didn"t make the final cut. Watch out for them...
The songs up now are There You Stand, This Is How We Play and Home.
