Its taken a long time but I have finally completed Episode One of the 5 Feet High and Rising Podcast.
Its a spin off of the show I present on PBS and features only Australian artists.
Featured on Episode One are the Fireside Bellows (Jordie Lane & Tracy McNeil), Matt Joe Gow, Downhills Home, Jeremy Edwards and the Dust Radio Band and Abbie Cardwell. All artists gave permission for their songs to be used (hope they didn't forget - its been eight months in the making!).
Hello there, Fireside Bellows is the new country harmony duo made up of Melbourne born Jordie Lane & Canadian Tracy McNeil who first met in this exact spot....myspace. Before they record their debut album you can hear them preview all new songs at two great residencies this month in Melbourne
Missing Harvest this year...in a blue funk about it. Had hoped to travel south next week to see Snarsk vSnarski, Darling Downs, Devastations, the Nick exi etc....but you know me...any deck of cards in my hands have at least 10 Jokers in it so I shall defer it untilMarch when Jens Lekman and other delights are about.
Hope you and Amanda are off to a great start for the year
Thanks for the add, good work - if you get a chance check out the show.

Thanks Joe for reminding me by virtue of your blogs what music matters sometimes one forgets with the jungle of CDs you can't live without. Down early October for a couple of weeks to see friends play...Blackeyed Susans and The Re-Mains...then in late Nov for some Patent Attorney thing and hang about for a week or two. Is there any good festival stepping into the void left by Harvest...it seems such a shame to waste those years of momentum...and nature abhors a vacuum...even if it's just the beer garden of The Retreat or something....stay amazing
