Dawn has been singing in the DC area for more than 10 years. She has been influenced by female vocals including Fiona Apple, Tori Amos and Debby Harry, and bands including the Sonic Youth, Hole, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. She has a hard time deciding which part she loves most about performing on stage - the rock fashion or the rock music. Luckily, she can have both.
Brett McCoy -- Guitar
Brett McCoy has been studying music since the early 80s and counts
among his influences guitar gods of the 1970s like Tony Iommi and
Frank Marino as well modern axeslingers like Ty Tabor and Jerry
Cantrell. For Blue Hotel, Brett plays a Ty Tabor Signature Yamaha
guitar and a Gibson Les Paul Studio guitar and uses Marshall all-tube
amplification.
Doug Pascale -- Bass Guitar
A true Gen-Xer and recovering Child of the 80s, Doug has been playing music since 4th grade on instruments ranging from classical bassoon to rock bass guitar. He's definitely an audiophile and technogeek...but actually does interact effectively with both machines and humans. His inspirations include 80s rock, 90s alternative, classic rock, blues, and reggae. Listen for it...Thunder = Warwick + MarkBass.
Tim Hadden -- Drums
Tim abandoned his first instrument--the flute--when he discovered he liked to hit round objects with sticks. He likes all good music, but mostly listens to pop, rock, metal, and jazz. He is not ashamed to admit that the first records he ever owned included disco artists such as the Bee Gees and the Village People. Ok. Perhaps he is a little ashamed. Tim plays traditional grip, though he is not sure why, and is committed to improving his dental hygiene habits.
Blue Hotel is a 4-piece rock band that came together to create a sound true to traditional rock structure, driven by hard rock rhythms, and twisted by new wave melodies.
