As one of Australia's premier independent bands, Bluehouse have stamped out a unique style with their original folk-flavored pop melodies that mesh powerful, intricate harmonies with inspired guitar and bass playing (along with a healthy dose of sardonic wit thrown in between songs!)
The dynamic duo of Jacqueline Walter and Bernadette Carroll met in a pub in Melbourne in 1995. They have since forged a successful career as a truly independent worldwide touring and recording entity. By honing their performance skills via beautiful singing, clever thinking and hard work Bluehouse have received five star reviews from critics and fans alike.
Bluehouse have independently released two EP's and four full-length CD's --"big", "6 minutes of breathable air" , "These Days" and the brand NEW CD "ONE MORE KISS", produced by fellow Aussie, two-time Grammy nominated guitar legend, Tommy Emmanuel, cgp. After performing sold out shows all over their homeland of Australia, they thrilled European audiences at shows including WOMAD and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Since their firsr tour of North America in 2002, they've wowed audiences at some of the most prestigious music festivals and showcase venues including California WorldFest, Stan Rogers Memorial Folk Festival, Mountain Stage, Philadelphia Folk Festival, the US National Folk Alliance, Kerrville Folk Festival (Texas), Ann Arbor Folk Festival, Freight and Salvage in Berkeley, House of Blues in LA, The Birchmere in D.C, and Austin's Cactus Cafe.
Touring almost constantly, Bluehouse have shared the stage with Neil Young, Cowboy Junkies, UB40, Neil Finn, Elvis Costello, Tommy Emmanuel, Neil Finn (of Crowded House) and others. They've also played to an estimated worldwide listening audience of 200 million on the 'Mountain Stage Radio' out of West Virginia. Look for them on tour in Australia in September 06, followed by a US tour this fall.
