Welcome to the home of the Blue Ridge Rollergirls, Asheville, NC’s first all female, flat track roller derby league! Yes, roller derby is back! And yes, roller derby is a fast-paced, aggressive, REAL SPORT!
Founded in June of 2006, the Blue Ridge Rollergirls make up Asheville , NC 's first all-female, flat-track roller derby league. The league’s mission is to actively create, promote, and sustain an environment that fosters strength, courage, vitality, and the empowerment of women in the roller derby sport. Each member of the league shall be challenged and supported in her pursuit of personal growth in and through the sport. The league itself shall remain deeply rooted in the spirit of good sportswomanship so as to bring honor and distinction to the league, women in the sport, and roller derby as a whole.
The Blue Ridge Rollergirls are a not-for-profit organization and foster community outreach through our support of local charities. In addition to supporting local causes with our time, we also donate 10% of ticket profits from each of our home bouts to a local charity. We love to give 'til it hurts!
As an applicant to become an official Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) league, the Blue Ridge Rollergirls runs itself by the association’s motto, “for the skaters, by the skaters.”
Our vision for the future includes:
• establishing more permanent roots in our community
• becoming a WFTDA member league
• fostering ongoing personal and league growth through the maintenance of a regular bouting schedule among our intra- and interleague teams
• cultivating our travel team’s growth and progress through improved skill level and increased regional and national competion
and
• facilitating growth and development of the roller derby sport through competition and fellowship with other leagues.
Many thanks to our growing allegiance of fans! Thanks to your continued support, we'll be back in 2009 with more of that good ol' derby action you love at the Civic Center! Mark your calendars or else!

We have created a way for Roller Dodge players and Derby leagues to partner and support each other. Roller Dodge teams in your area can be a good source to recruit future derby skaters and they are very likely to buy tickets to derby events. See our main Website at Roller Dodge dot com and link your main site to ours to get started. Check out the info about the North Texas 2010 Tournament. BTW we now have a ‘Roller Dodge’ group on Facebook. Hope you will connect with us there as well.
Had a great time hanging with you before the bout! You rocked it! Thanks for helping with my research! I'll put an acknowledgment in the book to you all, especially Moong Chi! (it comes out July 2010)
