First and foremost, it has always been about the music. Blueshifted is a band of four individuals who came together through a mutual love of listening to music, playing it, and creating it. The result is a sound that feels like a powerful blend of Jimmy Eat World and Incubus (minus the turntables). Although the band only became truly complete in the fall of 2005, its beginnings date way back to fall 2002. As freshmen at the University of Delaware, guitarist/songwriter Eric Saber and singer/guitarist Jason Rand met and started to jam together. It wasn't long before they decided to take some of the songs that Eric had written and flesh them out. Throughout 2003 and 2004, the pair worked together, focused on developing the songs and melodies.
By fall 2004, John Stant joined on drums and soon the trio was playing shows locally and around campus. A year later, bassist Ryan Best rounded out the lineup and the band's pop/rock alternative sound became fully realized. With almost a dozen songs to choose from, the band began recording a 3 song EP in November and December 2005, with high hopes of spreading their music. The Blueshifted EP was released at the end of March 2006. The band's song "Beware the Friend Trap" is currently in rotation on "Hometown Heroes," a popular show that airs weekly on Wilmington radio station 93.7 WSTW.
"Namaskaram,
i do my thing, and you do your thing.
i am not in this world to live up to your expectations
and you are not in this world to live up to mine.
You are you and i am i,
and if by chance we find each other, It`s Beautiful".
