Rufus T. Firefly: Lead Vocal & Harps. Born to carny folk, somewhere in Middle America, Rufus spent his formative years traipsing around the country being exposed to the cultural and musical explosion that was blooming at the time. From the Stax Soul Sound of Memphis, Chicago Blues, Delta Blues, Motor City Power R&B Crunch to the Creole flavored Americana sounds of the Crescent City, Rufus soaked up these sounds like a stereophonic sponge. Then Rufus had the ultimate "Curtis Lowe" experience; meeting and being tutored and eventually touring with R&B Legend "BULL MOOSE JACKSON" during his comeback in the late 80's. Finding himself at the crossroads, Rufus has taken the trip like so many before him. Rufus is dedicating his life to spreading his passion of sweaty roadhouse Rhythm & Blues with the ultimate vehicle "THE BLUES JUNKIES". At every performance Rufus puts forth the noble experimate of Peace Love & Understanding through Danceable, Romanceable, Backbone Slippin', Sweat Drippin', Finger Poppin', Hang-up Droppin', Money Maker, Hip Shaker, for every Poor Heartbreaker the "THE POWER OF THE BLUES".
Hello to all Firstly, I hope all is well with you and yours. I am personally touching base with everyone on my friend’s list. I have the next few months off before I start a tour early next year, and I want to take this time to thank you for your friendship and support , and share my latest news. In my latest blog I posted the transcript of my recent interview with MUEN Magazine, which was featured in the October issue.
