   About Blues Prophecy
MySpace Layouts
MySpace Layouts
Band: Blues Prophecy The band plays a mix of recognizable blues favorites, some obscure blues gems, up-tempo R&B jewels, and Blues originals penned by the members of the band.

Bassist-Vocalist Kelly Wildowsky hails from the East coast where she spent 7 years fronting and recording with popular blues band, Backyard Strut. This work earned her a spot on the Whos who of Women in Blues list. Kelly moved to California in 1997 and was a fronting member of the band Midnite Mosey and recorded with the band WildGardin. Kellys vocal influences range from the classic sounds of Etta James to more current artists such as Bonnie Raitt and Debbie Davies. Her soulful blues vocals add to the bands "true to the blues" style.

Lead Guitarist, Tom Neale is a Chicago native and dedicated blues guitarist. Got my first Fender Stratocaster at age 13. Tom has been an artist in the LA area music scene since age 19 with a basis formed from Chicago blues to 60s style psychedelic rock. Formed bands and wrote originals, and played lead guitar for those bands. In LA produced/recorded a single played on KROQ in the band QU1. Recent bands in Santa Barbara including The Drivers, produced a CD, played the big festivals and stages locally. Now, at home in the Blues Prophecy band co-formed with the other members. Some top favorites are Buddy Guy, and Howlin Wolf.

Guitarist-Vocalist Keith Grant a New Yorker whom as a early teen, was exposed to a wide range of music ranging from Motown, Blues, Country and Rock of the 60s thru the pioneering compositions of John Cage. Since taking up guitar at age 13 Keith has enjoyed writing, arranging and playing venues in New Yorks Lower East Side. During the past 20 years in Santa Barbara Keith has contributed to numerous musical projects. As of today, Keith still draws inspiration from the likes of Robbie Robertson, Johnny Winter and a host of young and old musicians.

Drummer George Lambert, affectionately know as Kat Maxi, started playing drums as a freshman in high school in the Bay Area. He started seriously playing music in a well known Tucson band named Johnny Law which had a single played on rotation. After moving to San Francisco from Tucson, he completed the lineup for what was to become an award winning band named Scarlet Theory. The band won the best unsigned band in the Bay Area award in 1996 and opened up the Bay Area Music Awards held at the Famed Warfield Theater. He has shared the stage with names such as Bonnie Rait, Chris Issac and Neil Young. George is happy to have a home with Blues Prophecy .

Blues Prophecy,
We appreciate you being our friend and visiting our site. Best wishes for a fun February. We have posted the song, "Kiss It", which I co-wrote with Audrey (Mrs. Ike) Turner when she and Ronnie Turner (son of Ike and Tina Turner) were in Black Angel. Audrey wanted to do the Ike and Tina Turner song, "Nutbush City Limits". I suggested that instead why don't we write a song like "Nutbush". I listen to the guitar part that Ike played on "Nutbush", changed it around a bit and we co-wrote "Kiss It". We started all our live sets off with this song, but never recorded it together. The picture shown below is of Black Angel at The Roxy in Los Angeles on a Saturday night in late July. Shown in the picture from left to right are: Tomeka Haywood; me; Audrey Turner; and Ronnie Turner. Soon after this picture was taken Audrey and Ronnie left Black Angel to tour Europe with Ike Turner and The Kings of Rhythm. We still record with Audrey and hope to put a tour together with her sometime in the future. Best wishes.

Hi Blues Prophecy,

So glad you introduced yourself. Nice to meet you.

Kind of funny...your first band was Backyard Strut...we released our first album under the name Backroad Shack but people used to mess it up and call us Backyard Shack all the time. It's one of the reasons we gave up the name.

Best wishes with your music. Thanks for inviting us to share your space on MySpace. Maybe we will share some stage space sometime!
