   About BLUES SANS FRONTIERES
BLUES SANS FRONTIERES originally formed as a trio of ROBERT HOKUM (guitar/vocals), SAM KELLY (percussion) and MEHBOOB NADEEM (sitar) to play a one-off at The Ealing Blues Festival on July 19 2008. After some nagging by friends who loved the 'mult-cultural blues concept' they re-convened for 2 hours at Rebel HQ studio on November 3rd 2008 and recorded a demo including the track 'Who Do Love'. The demo received very good reviews in Blues in Britain and Blues Matters who described the band as 'HIGHLY ORIGINAL'. Consequently, the band secured a date at London's prestigous Bush Hall and recruited additional musicians to the line-up including - Guyanan master flautist KEITH WAITHE, and from THE GUV'NORS - NIGEL APPLETON and GRAHAM WRIGHT on tuned percussion and bass. A 'special guest' at The Bush Hall concert was PAUL CLARVIS on tablas. The band use only acoustic instruments and ethnic percussion.
