Unsere Musik -
B.S.E (eigentlich die Bezeichnung fuer den Rinderwahn steht aber hier fuer Blues Sound Explosion) gibt es seit 2002. B.S.E spielt Blues vom Chicago-Stil, von namhaften Kuenstlern wie B.B. King, Ray Charles, John Lee Hooker, etc.) und weniger bekannten wie Slim Harpo, Hound Dog Taylor, etc.) ueber den klassischen Blues, bis hin zu den Original-Wurzeln der musikalischen Basis anderei Kulturen.
In diese Richtung laesst sich auch der Afro-Beat aus Benin, der Zydeco aus Lousiana, die italienischen Blues-Lieder, der Raggae und der Sirtaki einordnen. All das ohne den Hauptstil der Band zu vergessen: den Blues.
Die Band -
Das ist der aussergewoehnliche Schlagzeuger Jos Griffioen (mit seinen Solo-CD’s und Stimme in jede Richtung), der begleitet wird von Italo Colombo (Harmonika, Akkordeon und Gesand), Max Rattazzo (Gitarre und Gesang), Giulio Russi (Gitarre), Fabio Rattazzo (Bass) und Naudy Carbone.

B.S.E. (il virus della mucca pazza) sta per Blues Sound Explosion. In attività dal 2002 propone un blues che attinge dal Chicago-style con brani originali e standard influenzati dalla psichedelia e da altri linguaggi quali il rock, il jazz e le molte tradizioni del pianeta. Tra gli autori rivisitati in maniera personale vi sono anche alcuni meno noti al grande pubblico, quali Slim Harpo e Hound Dog Taylor, qualche contemporaneo come Sugar Ray Norcia o Jerry Portnoy, ma anche autori conosciuti al grande pubblico quali J.L. Hooker, Ray Charles e altri ancora.
Nel corso di questi anni la band si è proposta riscuotendo ovunque apprezzamenti in locali, rassegne e festival. Vale la pena di ricordare alcune significative presenze: al Festival Blu Notti Blues di Moncalvo (2003, 2006, 2007), al Festival Teatro&Colline di Calamandrana (2003, 2004, 2005, 2007), al Piemonte Live-Day (2003, 2004), al Poggio Murella Blues Festival (2005), alla Olympic White Night Turin (2006), a Obiettivo-BluesIn (2007), al Festival Internazionale Artisti di Strada di Bra (2007), al Rondellkonzerte di Biberach an der Riss (D) (2003, 2004, 2006), al Musiknacht di Biberach (D) (2007) al Musichnacht di Pfullendorf (D) (2007) e sempre, in Germania dove la B.S.E. sta avendo un buon seguito, al Partnershaftsverein Blues Festival (2007), infine a Lucern (CH) alla “Rynauerstrassefest” (2006).
Nel marzo 2007 la band ha autoprodotto e pubblicato il CD dal titolo “There’s A New Disease In Town” (anche con 4 brani originali), presentato al Teatro Alfieri di Asti in concerto con gli ospiti Paolo Bonfanti e Giorgio Conte.
Nel corso di questi anni la band è stata attiva anche nell’ambito promozionale organizzando jam-session e serate anche a scopo benefico (Harvest For Free festival musicale all’interno del penitenziario di Quarto, concerto benefico per l’Associazione Volontari Ospedalieri, ecc). La B.S.E. sostiene ActionAid nell'adozione a distanza di Luceini della Repubblica Dominicana. Attualmente la band dopo la fuoriuscita alla batteria di Jos Griffioen (nel CD anche voce solista in alcuni brani) è costituita da: Italo Colombo (armonica e voce), Max Rattazzo (chitarra e voce), Giulio Russi (chitarra), Fabio Rattazzo (basso) e Naudy (giovane promessa haitiana alla batteria).
Una curiosità B.S.E.: dal 2003 abbina il blues a vini DOC di qualità di giovani produttori dell’astigiano, si va dalla barbera, allo chardonnay fino al sauvignon blanc, tutti rigorosamente etichettati B.S.E.. Un brindisi a fine concerto è d’obbligo!!!
