Ben, I was in a local junk shop today when I saw a poster with Phil Och's name on it. I was confused and had to look twice, I've never seen Phil's name written down anywhere other than the book I'm reading and the obvious underground internet sites.
Anyway, what was even better was that it turned out to be a Phil Ochs tribute night at a local venue. I'm freaking out, it's going to be fantastic, it's just so unexpected. I really can't wait to go, I'm the only person I know who's heard Phil, it's going to be great to find some locals who are familiar.
I wish you could come over to UK at some point. This event would have been perfect for you to pay some tribute, let alone help me with my quest to hear you live at some point in my life.
My friend just let me borrow his copy of "Songs About Zombies and Trust Issues" that he got from a show a little while back and I have to say- It's one of the most amazing CDs I've ever heard. I can't stop listening to it!
Thanks again for inspiring me and creating beautiful music that's going to stay in my CD player at least for the next few months haha
