I am currently enjoying the sounds of Daughtry, AC/DC, Foo Fighters, Fleetwood Mac, Journey, Heart, KT Tunstall, Sarah McLachlan, Gavin McGraw, The Pretenders and of course Suzi Quatro
I have been writing and recording my own material for a few years under the name of 'BLUSH'. Although my main instrument is the bass guitar, I also play 6/12 string rhythm acoustic/electric guitars, keyboards and sing lead and backing harmony vocals.
A brief biog....
First TV appearance on "Ted Rodgers 3,2,1" with country and western band. Did theatre tour of the UK with Boxcar Willie;
Played at the Country Music Show in Nashville, Tenessee, USA;
Toured extensively in Holland, Norway and Germany playing military bases and clubs;
Formed my own 5 piece all female rock band ..She's the Leader' in the mid eighties. Pre-Spice Girls/All Saints era we were considered a bit of a novelty, and managed to travel around the world and get paid for it. Playing a mixture of rock covers/standards and our own material we had a catalogue of over 100 songs. We played in hotels in the middle East, toured Europe (Spain, Holland, Germany, Turkey, Sardinia, Corsica, Sicily) pubs, working men's clubs, and American/UK military bases both here and abroad . The Hilton Hotel in Bahrain flew 5 of us over just for a New Years Eve gig;
Appeared on pilot documentary with ..She's the Leader' playing one of my original songs. Filmed in Birmingham for producer Ann Wood, it was certainly different and this episode formed part of the legend that is 'TELETUBBIES'!!!!!
Played bass guitar on and helped promote the re-recorded re-release of ..I wish it could be Christmas Everyday' by the Roy Wood Big Band (Roy Wood ex Wizard, The Move) in 1995. This version is used in endless TV shows around Christmas time;
With Roy Wood, appeared on Jim Davidson's Generation Game, Richard and Judy, and Big Breakfast. Played the Heineken Music Festival in Swansea. Also went into the studio with Roy Wood's Army to re-record his ..hits'. Took time out of studying for my IT degree and stepped in on bass guitar/backing vocals for the UK tour Nov/Dec 1999 playing venues in Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow, Bristol, and Cardiff;
Original song Obsessed by You" included on the triple CD album ..British at Midem' released in January 2005;
2 tracks appear on the MIDEM sampler album released January 2007
'Obsessed by You' track included on the 'Sonar Music 25th Anniversary Album' released November 2009. Gig at Spencer Sports Club, Earlsdon, Coventry on November 4th 2009 - some new tracks and suprises!
