Recent Influences: Going back over the last 2yrs, its been an amazing, humbling and totally unforgettable time for DJs Jason and Julian as they had the pleasure of DJing across the country, playing intimate bars to 3,500 capacity superclubs working with some of the Kings & Queens of the music industry - GateCrashers Corey, Paul from K-Klass, John Kelly, Nick Rafferty, Alister Whitehead, Paul Della Ross, Sybil, Danny (HedKandi Percussionist), Soul Seekers Andy Galea, NightStylers Pat, DJ EJay, FHMs Hayley Parsons, N-TRANCE, Rita Campbell, BODYROX, Brandon Block, FREEMASONS, Tony Jay, Stevo D, Si Stylus, Tin Tin, Galaxy FMs Paul Kershaw and not forgetting our very, very, dear friend, the legendary DJ Paul Dunne from DIRTYLITTLEFUNKERS
Started in January 2009, Jason Cotton & Julian Waller decided to create a dance music production team in the genre of House/Electro. After an amazing 18months of DJing with the UKs' fastest growing brand 'Dirty Little Funkers' on their UK tour and learning all that they could from the stars that graced the decks, the lure of production became far too much to say no to...
And these last 9months have been truly incredible....their first two remix releases were signed to the Italian label Tronic B7 but hungry for the limelight they stretched themselves and in March came a signing from K-KLASS for Graeme Park/Nick Husseys, summer anthem smash 'Samba Party' in which Blu-Sky made the EP beating a few other amazing producers to sit alongside K-KLASS, Greame Park, Jay Kay & Nick Hussey on their 2009 prestigious Samba Party EP, which still remains No.8 on the XpressBeat House charts and No.22 on the Xpressbeat Most Wanted Charts since it's release in July 2009. Heavily supported by The Freemasons, Hed Kandi and played numerous times on Graeme Parks Radio show, this track was massive on the Ibiza dancefloors.
The summer was an exceptionally busy time for the boys as they covered the classic Ministry of Sound track 'Right Before My Eyes' working alongside the Southside Hustlers achieving a signing from the 'Dirty Little Funkers' brand and being aired on Cheshire FM.
In July came a remix for the legendary Nick Hussey under the guise of Fiasko for their 'Hot Rod' EP which was signed by the incredibly talented Jonathan 'The Fox' Waller who released the EP upon his Quadraphonic record label were it recieved a massive response as it was played at the opening party @ Space in Ibiza.
Still hungry for more...the boys continued and was humbled to work on a 'Back to 89' remix for the legendary Ian Widgery (Skynet UK) whom has sold over 3million units and worked with the likes of Robbie Williams, David Bowie and Faithless...Ian was so impressed with the Blu-Sky - Dirty Dolly Mix, he gave it a huge thumbs up and could not have made the boys happier - it was again signed to the Quadraphonic record label where it reached a Beatport position of 42 in the Electro House Charts
So where now...
Well...the boys have been really busy working on a new guise producing original tough, tech house tracks trying to push the boundarys on all their original work...still yet to be signed under this new guise they endeavour to keep on pushing until someone gives in :-)
For Blu-Sky a truly funky, 2010 EP is well on the cards and so for 2009 they would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody for all their love, support and opportunities to let these two lads from nowhere shine with the biggest smiles on their faces - Cheers !
