About me:
I am an Astronomer, and Education and Public Outreach (E/PO) Specialist at UC Berkeley’s Space Sciences Laboratory. I develop programs for the public through the web and museums, develop classroom materials for students in K-12 classrooms, and conduct professional development for science educators. I have been an E/PO specialist for several NASA missions and projects including: RHESSI, STEREO-IMPACT, CHIPS, WISE, and Stardust@home.
I'm mellow, silly, sarcastic, cheesy, smart, stubborn, loyal, friendly, opinionated, and honest (with myself and others). My wife, family, and friends the most important things in my life. I'm ethnically mixed, Mexican & Euro-mut, I never know which bubble I should fill out for race/ethnicity. I don't speak Spanish (yet), but I do cook some mean Mexican food (my beans are the best). I love music and play saxophone. I'm a bigtime science geek and love to talk to others who are generally curious about the world.
