A major aspect of the event will always be seminars, panel discussions, and workshops as we strongly believe through education comes better music, better performers, and better businessmen and women.

We are pleased to add a film component to the conference now as well as additional aspects of the art & entertainment industry

    Seminars & Panels

We're putting together an amazing list of topics and speakers this year for seminars, panel discussions, workshops and open forums as well as Mentoring Sessions to be held all day on Friday.
Please visit our Website for a full description of each topic as well as full information on all of our speakers as we are updating constantly!

Saving the music and educating children - the next generation of musicians & DJs - in our schools is an important project we support by donating a portion of the proceeds to the Baltimore City School System Music & Arts Programs.
The BMC is proud to partner with the Music 4 More to help educate our youth!

    Your support can help too!

    From Rolling Stone:

    BEST SCENE
    Baltimore

People and Places That Make Charm City a Hotbed for Rap and Art Rock

Darkroom Productions' Juan Donovan and Jamal Roberts sparked the city's rap scene with their Wire-inspired Hamsterdam mixtapes and later licensed music for the show.
Deep Flow Studios owner Amotion hosts a rap show on public TV.
Electronic party-starter Dan Deacon founded the Wham City collective, staging eclectic rock shows, art installations and theater with bizarre names like Shoot Her! A Jurassic Park Play.
Dream-rock duo Beach House buy organs at local thrift shops.
Proprietors/residents of Floristree, the unlicensed space where Deacon and others play.
    Double Dagger
, one of many edgy acts hatched at the Mary-land Institute College of Art.
Record mecca Sound Garden hosts B-more acts and has deep punk and metal collections.
Normal's is crammed with esoteric books and music; avant-garde artists play the adjacent venue, Red Room.
Golden West Cafe is the late-night post-show hangout.
Headbangers at Talking Head, named after native son David Byrne's band (Frank Zappa and Tori Amos are also locals).

About me:

......
WHAT IS THE BALTIMORE MUSIC COLLECTIVE?

Starting with a dream and the intent to bring the music of Baltimore to the masses and the masses to the music, the original Baltimore Music Conference, took on quite the daunting task. After several years of trying to do it all on it’s own, the realization that it needed others involved took hold!

2010 now finds the BMC meaning Baltimore Music Collective with it’s founder and producer, Lisa Chaplin Suit / Diva Productions, working with several individuals and organizations on multiple events and partnering with David Andler / Morphius Records to produce the Baltimore Independent Music & Arts Festival or BiMA.fest which is a new and expanded event replacing the Baltimore Music Conference!

The Baltimore Music Conference was also established to enhance the visibility of Baltimore as a center for the music industry and the general public to gather together to discover local, regional, national, and international talent.
Situated between Philadelphia & Washington, DC and more widely between New York & Florida, Baltimore's location is the perfect place to draw the entire east coast together as well as the world!
The seminars and workshops serve to educate the musician, the DJ, and the public. The artists serve to entertain you.

The BMC and now BiMA.fest serve to bring it all together!

Our showcases host several stages featuring the talents of musicians and bands of all genres playing predominantly original material and DJs spinning the hottest music out in all genres of electronic dance music. All bringing the finest music to Baltimore.
The Baltimore Music Collective continues to bring recognition to music here in Baltimore as well as worldwide and to those that make it happen! Add in educational forums, artists, vendors, film, dancers, plus more and you have undoubtedly, the hottest four day event in the Mid-Atlantic region!

One part music festival and one part educational conference, both presenting promotional, marketing, vending and networking opportunities for all. Showcases are held at several visible downtown venues all around town. Some are known for large up-scale events, some more underground. Some host concert series and some are charming and quaint. Much like the BMC though, all are known to draw a varied and diverse consumer demographic as this annual event promises to continue to bring recognition to music here in Baltimore as well as worldwide and to those that make it happen!!..

Here are the happenings and ways for you to be a part of BiMA.fest!..
For additional information about any of the following please email - bmoremusic@gmail.com

Attend!
Showcases
Whether you're a fan, friend or family member of one of our many performers. A music industry rep, a venue owner, employee or patron. A music lover... Young or Old. Rock fan or Country fan. Dancer or "Train Spotter". We welcome and invite everyone to attend one or all days as there is something for everyone!
If you truly support local music, want to discover new talent or just want to hear great music, you want to attend the showcases!

Music Biz 101...
A major aspect of the conference is the seminars and workshops led by some of the most respected and well known in the music industry. We strongly believe through education comes better music, better performers, and better businessmen and women. Host a seminar, conduct a workshop, or join your peers for a panel discussion and help teach the up and coming both the old school way and the new cutting edge as both have their place in the industry.
If you're serious about succeeding in the industry today, you want to attend these!
For those interested in speaking at the 2010 conference, please contact bmoremusic@gmail.com for information
