Hi, I’m B’Na., if you are looking for a bio that is predictable you will have to look somewhere else. To start of I’m not British, I was born in Cologne, Germany. No, I didn’t start singing by the age of 2 1/2 and didn’t have my first stage experience when I was 5 years old. And no, I don’t have a very musical family, relatives that are singing or piano teachers. As a matter of fact my mom can’t sing and my dad stopped playing an instrument before I was born (...o.k. he picked it up again 2 years ago...) and my sister only sings when all doors and windows are locked... so much for that. I was a professional sports person in my teenage years. Did some championships and went to America.
I always loved music, but the only chance I had was to sing along with the radio. I listened to everything I could get my hands on from rock to pop, jazz, blues, country, folk, rock n’roll. I started to make up my own melodies and lines but never followed it up. An accident made me stop my riding career and for the first time I started to get really involved with music. I learned the sax and started to sing. By this time I was already a huge fan of rock music e.g. AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, The Who and surprisingly enough I started to study opera singing in Cologne and Vienna. Now looking back I can see why it wasn’t my true calling, but I’m still very grateful for all the things I’ve learned from it!! I was different - giving Verdi an AC/DC vibe didn’t go down too well, to say the least - I wanted something different.
So I packed my bags and went to London to finally do what I wanted to do; write and sing my own music. The influences for my songs come from all kinds of genres, the lyrics I write are my life and experiences and how I see things. If someone asks ’how do you sound’ I just say ’like me’. So everything you hear and see is ’me’. Nothing more...but defenitely nothing less!!
Always bare in mind ’Nothing is impossible’ //
