Help me out here everyone, I'm looking for other organizations anywere in the world that do what we do. I have tried and tried to find them but no luck. I'll list the things BRV does and if you find something or are similar please let me know.
BRV cleans up trash from the river and recycles all we can at the end of the float.
We are on the river cleaning from the inside out instead of on the banks but we do clean the outer limits.
We do organized group clean-ups which is not really anything new.
We are on the river 6-8 hours per day, 3 days per week, every week, for 3 months because there are more than 100,000 people per year who use the Boise river and it get's trashed in one day.
We do public service such as, we patched and pumped more than 150 rafts, and performed more than 90 river rescues per year.
We have a program to get people with disabilities and disadvantaged kids into the outdoors and into conservation.
(actually had a blind guy pick up trash and a woman with only one leg find the first crutch we ever found while she was picking up trash, how ironic is that?)
BRV is an ALL volunteer organization with more than 1000 volunteers signed up. (doesn't meen they all show up of course)
anyway with a network like this I'm bound to find what I'm looking for. I'll post this in other spaces also.
    thanks in advance.

The sun was beginning to burn off the morning mist that hung over the river, like a gentle white veil. The water murmured and sparkled, as it flowed along. Up in the sky the turkey buzzards that nested in the nearby cliffs were circling and gliding through the crisp spring air. Zack stood there by the river's edge and took a deep breath. He loved the smell of the river.

A fish jumped and Ziggy ran into the water, trying to catch it.

"Come back here, Ziggy," Zack said, "Let's go find Ivy.
    The shad are running!"

"Well, this is the planet Earth, Professor Ang...?" Zack was struggling for the name again.

"Angelicus. Aquius Botanicus Angelicus. Of Quantia. Well, if this is the planet Earth, there must be something terribly, terribly wrong! Because this river is not as clean as it should be." He reached down to the red loop on his belt and pulled out the old magazine.

He mumbled to himself as he thumbed through the pages. "Now, where was that? Ah, here! It right here in the Planetary Guide."

He read. “ ‘The Big Blue Ball is not too hot, not too cold. It has sun, rain, wind and snow, is abundant with living creatures and has the largest supply of water in the universe. Its lakes, ponds, streams, rivers and oceans are all clean and contain plenty of pure water for charging a traveler's pipe.' You see? The perfect water to spark my bubble with. It has the power to guide me back home to Quantia.

December 27 2008 at 9pm, you are cordially invited to the Rebel Radio Community Jam at Broadway Joe's in Buffalo NY.

All in attendance will receive a free copy of Rebel radio 45 the new double CD from DTR....DJ Anubus will be back in the house, Billy Drease will be hosting, and over a dozen acts will grace the stage.

Admission is free, we kindly ask that you bring a non-perishable food donation for Food Bank of WNY; and we will have plenty of contests and giveaways from New Era Caps, Scion, DTR45, Buffalo First and more!!!

    -----------------

In an industry short on creative marketing and sales figures, DTR45 has once again pushed the envelope, taking the already innovative Rebel Radio compilation series and doubling down on the effort. Rebel Radio 4, announced last month, will be joined simultaneously with Rebel Radio 5, a move which pays homage to the 12 year label’s recent re-brand from DeepThinka to DTR “45”.

This free two disc collection continues the Rebel Radio tradition of fighting back against the corporate “nickel and dime” measures that music consumers endure and at the same time works to develop a market for hip hop talents both large and small in recognition. The talent featured this time around is remarkable: from locally based artists like Edreys, Fresh Guac and Q-Boogie, to mainstream names like Blu, Camp Lo, Styles P, and Pete Rock.
