In Farewell to the Starlight in Whiskey, Barton Sutter explores the wilderness along the Canadian border, sings about love in midlife, meditates on the roots of war, attacks political leaders, recounts peculiar heroics of an epileptic Vietnam vet, writes a "personal" ad in the voice of a chickadee and talks to a dead jackpine. A deft practitioner of meter and rhyme, Sutter is a fireside storyteller who makes the language thump and sing.
Barton Sutter is the only author to win the Minnesota Book Award in three different categories, including poetry, for The Book of Names: New and Selected Poems (BOA). He teaches English and Creative Writing at the University of Wisconsin, Superior. He lives in Duluth, MN.

BOA EDITIONS, LTD. is a Pulitzer Prize-winning, not-for-profit publishing house that has received national acclaim for its work. Founded in 1976 by the late poet, editor and translator, A. Poulin, Jr., BOA has published more than 180 books of American poetry and poetry in translation. In 2007, the press began publishing fiction through its American Reader Series.
BOA's mission is to foster readership and appreciation of literature. We accomplish this by publishing both emerging and distinguished poets and writers in four distinct venues:
• Lannan Translations Selection Series. The Lannan Foundation of Santa Fe, New Mexico supports the publication of two new collections of contemporary international poetry annually. Selection is weighted to established poets living outside of the U. S. who have yet to publish a collection in English.
• The American Reader Series is a venue for literary fiction of the highest caliber. This series also features works of prose about poetry and poetics.
BOA's community of readers extends across North America. We believe in offering a diverse range of literature so to satisfy readers with different tastes and backgrounds. More than 1,000 libraries, schools, book stores and literary centers shelve BOA poetry books.

I'd like to invite you and all your friends to check out (and hopefully subscribe to) my blog concerning the launch of my new novel, Child Finder. My book has already received some great reviews before its official release on June 9th. It is a mystery/suspense thriller -- and is only the first in a trilogy I am contracted to write. ..
Click here to access my blog where I will post information about the book's availability as well as signing events. Also, be sure to check out my novel's website (www.childfinder.us) for more detailed information about the story, my background, and publication schedules.
It is a great day to be alive! What Question can I ask to empower myself and others? What new thought can I notice now to add to my creativity? How can I improve the experience of those I encounter today? What can I do to facilitate your Gift?
Yesterday Is History Tomorrow is a Mystery Today is a Gift... That's why we call it the Present
A great poem does things to you. Divine and nearly frightening things, like knotting up something inside you, or making your heart slip into an erratic beat, or catching your breath, or causing tremors, fevers, daydreams, sweats, inexplicable bliss.
Congratulations to the winners of TSP’s Annual Poetry Contest!
