The Philadelphia based rock band Boat House Row began playing together early in 2001. Pat Larkin and Doug Lennox, founders of BHR, were co-workers and both had a love of music. They began writing songs together on coffee breaks and were eventually joined by fellow employee, Ed Markowski, on bass. It wasn't long before Ed's brother, Dave, joined them on the drums. Finally Jim Gatter, a classmate and good friend of Pat joined to round out the lineup.
With each of the member's being long time veterans of the local music scene it was no accident that they clicked musically as a band. Each one brings something different to their energetic sound.
Boat House Row's sound is best described as good old-fashioned rock and roll with a modern touch. Boat House Row's influences are reflected greatly in the music they write. They have an eclectic rock sound with a hard grungy edge.
Boat House Row like to have a good time at their performances. They are a high-energy band and they do a great job of making sure that always shines through. One thing is for sure, when you are with these guys you'll have a good time.
