Am I A Russell Ira Crowe Fan?
The Man , His Movies and his Music
In 1995 Russell Crowe came to the USA to make his first film.
"The Quick and the Dead." I saw the movie he then became a person
of interest to me. A coupleyears later he made "LA Cnfidential." After
seeing that I really became inquisitive as to what else he had done.
Things were not readily available until after "Gladiator."
Now I am a fan. Once he won the Oscar for this movie, availability
was there. So I eventually got hold of a movie called "Romper Stomper."
After seeing this I was a bit disillusioned. I got "The Sum of Us." All this
effort took a few years, I would have you know. This is the movie that
made me a Dedicated Fan. To me it was uncanny that a person could
transform himself from a monster into a sweet, loving, gay son, a
gladiator or even a 50 year old whistle blower.. It could not be the
same person in all these roles. You know what, it was. I was
hooked and have been ever since. From that point in time mostly
everything I had was VHS. Now I have converted most of
which to DVD. Back then there was not a lot to be found,
not like in today's world, especially now in the age of computers.
Somewhere along the way, I found out that he had been and was
into music. Even he had his own band. "Thirty Odd Foot of Grunts"
"TOFOG." I had a hard time but I finally got a hold of some music.
Again I was sold. Then onward with my collecting. How could one
individual be so talented? "In Other Words of Speaking" is my way
of thinking of Russell Crowe. Russell's music is an inner look at the
outside man. He writes and tells all in his well chosen lyrics. Every
song has meaning and the possibility a story. His music is his outlet.
What is said behind closed doors is exposed to the
world in his music. "The Words are Just the Deep End." His "TOFOG
band has been disbanded only to be reformed into another "The Ordinary
Fear of God."The old "TOFOG" / now the new "TOFOG". How about that.
Coincidence I don't think so. I believe the new endeavor will even be
more successful then the first.
A man who can change into so many different characters.
Transforming, facial expressions, eyes, hair and every inch of
his being into another person, having me the individual forgetting
in actuality who he really is. This is thegreatness of Mr. Crowe.
He can be anyone he wants to be. He is sensitive,
dedicated, loving, shy, verbal, and a bit rough shod.
If he was not all of these things he would not be Russell Ira Crowe.
