From the beginning of his career, Bobby has been recognized has an extraordinary interpreter of filin, the movement which arose in Cuba within the bolero. With a marked influence of American "blues" and "jazz" singers like Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald, a group of Cuban singers and composers were inspired to explore a wide range of new colors, make use of dissonances, change of key and intimate phrasing. The result revolutionized the Cuban musical scene of the '50s and 60's yet still remained within the boundaries of the great musical traditions of the past.

Bobby attended the Conservatorio Municipal in his native Havana and studied vocal arts privately with Maria Fantolli, Edelmira de Zaya and Iris Burguet. Additionally, he was coached by several well-known artists, including Isolina Carrillo, composer of "Dos gardenias".
He emigrated to the United States in 1985 and settled in Miami where her performed in the Cuban zarzuela Maria La O by Ernesto Lecuona under the direction of Mari Pérez in the Zarzuela Theater - La Sociedad ProArte Grateli.
He was also a well-known artist in local cabarets and appeared frequently on Spanish television programs. He moved to Washington, D.C. in 1989 and has given numerous performances at the State Department, and as a featured artist during the celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month.
Bobby estudió música en el Conservatorio Municipal, en su Habana natal y Belcanto, con la profesora italiana, Maria Fantolli,y tambien con Edelmira de Zayas e Iris Burguet.
Tomó tambien lecciones adicionales de repertorio e interpretación con Candito Ruiz e Isolina Carrillo, compositora de "Dos gardenias". Viviendo en Suiza vino a Estados Unidos en 1985 y se estableció en Miami. Participó con PRO ARTE GRATELI en la Zarzuela cubana María La O del Maestro, Ernesto Lecuona,y en el Festival del feeling bajo la dirección de LA Gran Soprano Cubana, Marta Pérez en el DADE COUNTY AUDITORIUM- Fue muy conocido como artista en los Cabarets de Miami como.EL MON PETIT con su GRAN AMIGO LUIS GARCIA. Con el pianista LUIS BUCHILLON actuo en teatro(SALA SIBI) y programas de la TV. como EL SHOW DE EVELIO TAILLACQ Y EL SHOW DE ROLANDO BARRAL Desde 1989 vivió en Washington,D.C. donde actuó con la Guitarrista Cubana, Bibiana Borroto participando en conciertos del STATE DEPARTMENT,SMITHSONIAN MUSEUMS,MES DE LA HERENCIA LATINA, HIRSHHORN, KENNEDY CENTER y de esta experiencia juntos ha quedado plasmado el disco de Música Cubana,"ALMA DE CUBA".Ha actuado en diversos conciertos en MOUNT VERNON COLLEGE, TEATRO GALA Y EL KENNEDY CENTER, con la Pianista Cubana Mari Paz.
En agosto del 2002 regresa a Miami invitado por el MIAMI-DADE COMMUNITY COLLEGE a participar junto a MALENA y otras luminarias de distintos paises del mundo, en el Homenaje a la Memoria de la Gran Cantante Cubana,ELENA BURKE. Dirigido por el gran realizador cubano Joaquin Riviera.
Recientemente termino su nuevo CD en los estudios G.P. de Miami, con una producción y dirección del maestro Gilbert Peralta.Actualmente reside en Bélgica.
