Hailing from the Land Down Under, Australia, Bobby Kidd possesses a talent for creating powerful pop-rock melodies that are instantly memorable and enjoyable.
In order to learn as much about music as he could, Bobby started working at a local music studio in Wollongong, a town just south of Sydney. It was in this environment that inspired him to sing, write songs and learn the guitar, piano and drums.
He then auditioned as a Keyboard Player and Backing Vocalist for the rock outfit ‘The Love Vandals’ who later become known as ‘World Star’. After 2 years of solid gigging around Sydney and the Illawarra the band recorded their first album, which attracted management. ‘World Star’ was featured on a Compilation CD of up and coming artists for the UK magazine, ‘Frontier’. ‘World Star’ enjoyed commercial airplay both locally and across the UK and Europe.
Bobby decided it was time to break out on his own. Using the knowledge and experience he obtained from his days working in the recording studio he bought some home recording equipment and became serious about writing new songs. Some of his earlier works were picked up by two local FM radio stations and were rotated on the Hot 30 Countdown.
He became involved in the National Musicoz Competition in 2002, a national initiative dedicated to seeking out, recognizing and encouraging the talents of unsigned and independent artists. That earned him several nominations and awards through this competition over several years, leading to the opportunity to showcase his songs at Luna Park in Sydney in front of 850 radio and industry execs.
Now looking to expand his musical presence elsewhere in the world, Bobby Kidd is a musical powerhouse that deserves a listen.

“In the music landscape that we have now come to know and unwillingly accept here in Australia, Bobby Kidd is a prime example of its legacy. In an ideal world, Bobby Kidd should be a rockstar of the highest order and probably 20 years ago he could of been.
With the 6 track EP ‘Breaking Me Down’, Bobby has delivered a bunch of songs that whilst may have a sense of familiarity, clearly define Bobby Kidd the singer and songwriter. With high quality production courtesy of Lindsay Rimes, each song will take you on it’s own journey of love, loss and discovery.
Opening track ‘Everytime You’re Near’ typifies what the music of Bobby Kidd is all about. Big hooks, guitar riffs, awesome vocal delivery, lyrically honest and mature, that comforting sense of familiarity, yet something unique all the same.
Radio friendly indeed this EP is with every song capable of slotting in perfectly amongst a playlist featuring the likes of the Goo Goo Dolls, Daughtry, Bon Jovi, Nickleback, Sixx AM and Shinedown.
With each song featuring a memorably melody line, it’s obvious Bobby Kidd is well versed in the art of ‘songwriting’. It’s so simple, yet so often overlooked, that the way into a listener’s head can often be as simple as melody, melody and more melody. Yeah we know it’s a cliché, but we guarantee these songs will be stuck in your head long after they have finished. Look no further than ‘Just A Memory’ and ‘Why’.
Title track ‘Breaking Me Down’ and ‘No Longer My Own’ ebb and flow showcasing some killer vocals that express the emotion of the lyrics, topped off with some grandiose string and song arrangements. 'Everytime You're Near'
“Has a cool radio friendly and powerful vocal track with a good chorus and some excellent song dynamics as well. Tight solid track. The arrangement flows smoothly from section to section and feels very satisfying emotionally. Your voice sounds very expressive. Oh, and did I mention that the song also has a really engaging melody line?! Well, it does. Great stuff. Very commercial sounding. Lyrics are meaningful and develop the story line. Well written song. Nicely done.”

“You make excellent use of dynamics on this track, which actually allows for the performance to sound more emotionally engaging. The arrangement feels very cohesive, and the lyrical theme sincere. The vocal performance is killer. I especially love when you dig into those soaring high notes in the choruses. Sounds really dramatic. The string arrangement helps emphasize emotion in those sections as well.”
