After 20 years of playing drums, I am now making music.
Most of my solo material over the past year is retro-futuristic thriller soundtrack music.
I incorporate sonic elements of progressive rock, such as vintage keyboard sounds, while still maintaining a simplicity, with short songs and soloing kept to a minimum.
So far, I have also touched on Heavy Metal, Ambient and Euro Disco.
I try to create a mood, often dark, tense, or sad with scattered bits of comic relief. My collaborations with Marco Deraney are the reverse.
All the pieces are in a small, bite-sized form, open to be expanded later, like say, during collaboration with other musicians (i.e. a vocalist...any singers interested?)
Trivial note: I like to avoid using stock loops & beats, preferring to program/sequence my own, piece by piece.
To get an idea of my drumming (as in actually playing live, acoustic drumkit, unlike the programmed drums you hear on this page), check out my former band BlowUpBlow...
