As founder and CEO of the USED, Bob Giddens is a writer, philosopher and wannabe world changer has been spreading the message where and when possible. His work in the bike industry, were he sought balance between Asian sourcing and home production, has grown into the USED concept.
As a musician he made numerous albums under the pseudonym of Bobby Tijuana and his band Fear of Winning points to some of the demons revolving in his head. Another band was the Illegal Artists, who made a record called Songs for Weddings and Funerals with Mike Stewart in Austin, Texas. Right now hes putting the Tijuana Allstars together with Boogie and looking for some gigs.
The idea of melting music, art and mobility into a brand with attitude had grown from the reaction of visiting China and seeing the potential, good and bad, that the sheer mass of people in China present. The excess production cannot be justified with the excess demand. His company sells mobility solutions for an aware audience. Comfort and style go hand-in-hand, but only if you need what Bob is offering. His branding policies go against the run and are not what marketing gurus will tell you. But you knew that all along, didnt you?
His favourite job at the moment is doing volunteer press work for his local basketball team - the Artland Dragons, who play in the premier german league. Go Dragons Go!

wer es noch nicht weiß – am Samstag, 23.08.08 geht’s los. „Floop-de-Woop“ - die letzte. Heute heißt das „Burgfestival“, ist wohl leider die letzte Veranstaltung des „Jungen Forums Lüdinghausen“ (leider- weil die einfach gute Konzerte organisieren) und wird wohl ein Highlight.

Laurent Impeduglia (Belgium, 1974) is a hyperactive builder. His artworks range from funny drawings on paper, through wild oil on canvas works, to tiny sculptures and huge installations: the thread that links them is the artist's obsessive, compulsive relationship with the act of construction and arrangement. Bricks, working tools (overalls, stones, concrete mixers, wheelbarrows, and so forth) are used - either the real objects themselves, slightly transformed, or simply drawn on paper or painted - to build cheap castles, burning churches or collapsing igloos. Impeduglia presents to us a world where a DIY philosophy is as important as the final production; a world where works “in progress” are as or more significant than finished objects. A world in which not only the object in question but the artist/builder's life itself is being constructed...
