Love music. Love to sing, love to play. Vocal harmony. . . heaven! Accordions . . . nirvana. Really!
Old-time squeezebox tunes: waltzes, polkas and schottishes, Irish music, Québecois one-row (like in the picture) tunes, Breton music.
I've been singing shanties and music of the sea for ages. So far I've made two solo CDs:
I also love playing for dancers: contra dances (accordion, piano, guitar), squares (guitar, banjo), morris - whatever.
See my morris side at Trunkles.org.
Here is a recent performance by our new longsword team:
The dance is called "Bampton Weavers" and was devised by Carlisle Morris and taught to me by Lamb and Flag Morris at Bromyard Folk Festival in 2007.
Besides performing I work as a folklorist and ethnomusicologist for the Elphinstone Institute in Aberdeen, Scotland working on the Jame Madison Carpenter Collection.
