I am a conservative, but I wasn't always. I believe in self-reliance and accountability. I believe in an honest work ethic. I believe in helping people when I can. I believe that if I do not know history, I am doomed to repeat it. I believe in small government. I believe the American Dream is still alive - barely. I believe there are forces in this world (and right here in the USA) that do not like America or Americans, that believe America is flawed and evil, that want America to fail, and that would destroy America if given the chance. I believe in paying close attention to and dealing with those forces. I believe sometimes we MUST fight to defeat them. I believe we are not at war with them, but that they are at war with us. I believe we must finish what we started in Iraq. I believe the "blame Bush" ship sailed seven years ago. I believe 4000 Americans killed in Iraq is a terrible, but necessary thing. I believe 47-million abortions since Roe v. Wade in 1974 is not only terrible, but genocide. I believe parents have a right to know when their under age daughter wants to have an abortion. I believe criminals and sex offenders should do hard time. I believe in the death penalty. I believe in God. I believe Jesus Christ died so that I may have eternal life.......................... CHECK IT OUT... TERRIBLE TED NUGENT GETS TOUGH: Definition of a "New Republican" is a Democrat who has been robbed. I was robbed at gun point 5 years ago - liberal thought and reasoning (or lack thereof) did the rest. In my opinion, the party on the left has simply gone the wrong direction since George W. Bush took office and Howard Dean became the DNC's leader (well, it's been going "south" longer than that, but that's when I noticed)....................... I never liked GWB, but I know that the alternatives would have been MUCH worse. Gore and/or Kerry would have been disaster and that's a fact, Jack. I am one of the fortunate who, like Dennis Miller, has "seen the light"........................ Hollywood and TV liberals, radical loons like Cindy Sheehan and Ward Churchill, a far left-leaning (if not totally fallen-over) news media, and totally radical left-wing organized movements like that which exist in academia, the ACLU, PETA, Greenpeace, and the labor unions, have all driven me away from the democratic party. I don't like their agenda and if there is an extremely well organized conspiracy to be found, it is most certainly on the left (and I don't care what Hillary Clinton says)........................... Check out this quote from David Horowitz, "A student cannot graduate from the Kansas State Women’s Studies program unless they believe in the ideology that makes up its core, and demonstrate that they do believe in it. Yet the ideological premise is scientifically challenged -- a fact that the program does not acknowledge. Yet in the catalogue descriptions of more than a hundred Women’s Studies courses which I have personally examined, these are common themes." This is precisely what the left fights when the shoe is on the other foot, for example, intelligent design........................... Hillary Clinton has again used the phrase "vast conservative conspiracy" recently, but there is far more organized fire-power on the left. You see it in the news - FNC's "fair and balanced" approach is far outnumbered by the mind-numbing liberal drone in all of the media. Yet FNC is constantly under attack from the left for being bias. FOX News Channel is open and up front about conservative editorial and goes well out of its way to present the other side. You won't see any attempts to balance from anyone else - it's an all-out liberal assault under the guise of "credible journalism" from the pages of the New York Times to Rosie O'Donnell's left-wing psycho-babble on MSNBC. Fact check, what's that? Once-and-for-all out the window thanks to Dan "I should have checked" Rather (formerly of CBS, now broadcasting into oblivion to anyone dumb enough to listen - credibility gone).......................... Anyway, enough about that......................... NOW FOR THE SHORT VERSION OF HISTORY Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter. The two most important events in all of history were: 1. The invention of beer, and 2. The invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer - and beer to the man. These facts formed the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups: 1. Liberals 2. Conservatives Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed. Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to BBQ at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement. Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly BBQ's and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement. Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became known as girlie-men. Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy and group hugs, the evolution of the Hollywood actor, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide all the meat and beer that conservatives provided. Over the years, Conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the jackass. Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare. Another interesting evolutionary side note - most of liberal women have higher testosterone levels than their male counterparts. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers, Hollywood actors, and group therapists are liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn't fair to make the pitcher also bat. Conservatives drink domestic beer. They eat red meat and provide for their family. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, athletes, Marines, and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living. Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America. They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for nothing. Here ends today's lesson in world history. I'm a big fishing/outdoor activities kind of a guy. Yes, I believe in my right to own a gun (and the responsibilities that go along with it). No, I don't like PETA - not because I have anything against animals, but that I am against causes with a political agenda. Oh, yeah... I'm also big into war news due to the fact that I have a number of friends in the military and a number of other friends' sons and/or daughters serve in the military. Expect a healthy dose of all subjects on my BLOGZILLA. Nothing is really out of bounds though, except that which MySpace prohibits............................
