Genghis Khan and Einstein play the heart strings -
The A$$holes are:
(Black Eyed Jack) - guitars, engineering

'Like The Son of Man' was recorded with many thanks to Gus Robertson and George at Kore in London -
'10 Miles' is a rough mix
Influences
Rich people, leather, daylight savings, collision, elbows, hair-cuts, jogging, duct tape, shock therapy, spear-fishing, queue jumpers, breakfast, the alphabet, bulls, illegal immigrants, tides, dinosaurs, loop-holes, Christmas, despair, rollercoasters, lawn mowers, the periodic table of elements, sandwiches, asthmatics, tadpoles, wood, delusion, convenience, chalk, herdsmen, photosynthesis, fertilizer. That is all and nothing more.
10 miles I'd walk to meet my lover/
& have her hold my stare/
to watch her dress fall from her shoulders/
& sunshine fall upon her hair/
& I know there's no other knows my heart/
10 miles I'd walk to her in summer/
in the midday sun/
to watch her cool down in the river/
& warm her when she's done/
& I know there's no other knows my heart/
10 miles I'd walk to meet my lover/
all through lonesome lands/
She is the field before the harvest/
& I've got hungry hands/
& I know there's no other knows my heart/
10 miles I'd walk to her in winter/
risking an icy death/
to stop her shivers when I held her/
& taste her frozen breath/
& I know there's no other knows my heart/
Cool new version of "10 Miles" ... will be on your side of the pond next month but can't make it to Pennsylvania unless I quit my job. I might quit my job ...
Cheers buddy. It's designed as the antithesis of every pretentious goth song about death I've ever written. Sort of making amends. "Johnny's got the porn" - an ace lyric if I do say so myself. Love the dark bluegrass of 'Lemon Tree' - are those Rolf Harris bubble noises in the background or is that the cumulative effect of the banjo and guitars? Or just my imagination? Anyway it makes an excellent counterpart to '10 Miles'. You could lay some really cool vocals down on it, or maybe just sex noises ... x
