Though this place is predictably shot through with every time-honoured social perversion of which we humans are capable, it has championed communication and interactivity like no other channel I’ve seen before. How? Through our unanymous love of music. Simple really…but genius often is.

I’M A MUSICIAN…

Have been ever since my academic career ended in a debt-riddled, Pro-Plus dependant, sanity-shredding scream of frustration and failure. Credit where it’s due, mama didn’t raise no fool…but she didn’t raise no bookworm neither. So I quit a psychology degree at Bangor Uni (Wales) after my years of drumming practice culminated in playing my first ever live gig at the local Greek Taverna, an experience that changed my life. I later qualified for a place at Guildford Academy of Contemporary Music….rock ‘n’ roll school essentially. I got learned, I got laid and I got LOUD, and I’ve been trying to get PAID for it ever since. But music is a strict mistress, who demands unconditional love and 24 hour access to your credit card, no matter how many times she takes her stiletto to your testicles. So several years on, you find me brimming with life-experience and rock-star anecdotes, and personal debt levels that qualify me for an appeal at the next G8 summit.

THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT…

Some may know me from my previous nu-metal band Ikon, now but a distant memory alas. These days I'm tub-thumping with BREAKER a 3 piece rock band that gives you a little blues, a little Foos, a little Muse and very little in the way of Huey Lewis & The News. We've just recorded our debut album with Grammy-nominated producer Chris Tsangerides (Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy, Aqualung...this list goes ON!) and it's due for release on iTunes early 2009, so check my Top Friends for the link if you're a discerning rock n roller! I'm also working on an album of my own singer/songwriter material, teaching drums (drop me a line if you’re interested in lessons) and have just started taking lessons in Taiko, which is Japanese drumming for those who haven't seen it. Through my love of martial arts I've always had a fascination for oriental culture, and Taiko is a perfect expression of the combination of emotional power and self-discipline that permeates much of the Japanese way of life. Look it up on YouTube, I promise you'll be amazed!

THE FROOT OF MY LOINS

My day-job as a wine advisor for Oddbins leaves me a little short financially, what with the millions needed to support the band and my kung-fu movie addiction. So to bring in a little extra moolah, I've set up my own graphic design company called DRAGONFROOT. Company logos, websites, animated banners, posters and flyers, band art, t-shirt prints, magazine adverts, shop signs, letterheads and business cards....I've done it all! Website is on the way, but mean time, check my MySpace photo albums for a mini portfolio. So if you need that kinda thing, talk to me...I'm really fucking cheap!

LA VIE EN ROSE…

Those rare and precious minutes I get any spare time, I now dedicate to Photography. Ever since I got a little digital compact for Christmas a few years back I’ve been hooked. I love the way it has changed my way of looking at the world, making everywhere you go a source of creativity, and everyone you look at having their own individual photographic potential. I love taking pictures of people, and being able to show them how beautiful they can be. I’ve now got a decent DSLR camera (a Canon EOS 350D for anyone that cares!) and even some studio lighting which I’m slowly getting the hang of.
