Aritsts from 40 nations worldwide come to this unique event and put body art into the mountain and lake scenery. The festival week starts on the 13th July. Before the main days we provide an extensive program with the "Festival-Academy" presenting workshop and demonstration programme, side events and parties at different locations.

The Lake Millstatter See region's scenery is the stage, where bodies are boldly put on show, and each artist has the opportunity to show his/her own specialities - bodies painted with many different materials and techniques, and sometimes combined with the most fantastic costumes, masks and show effects.

The bodypainting work at the event is of a high artistic quality. The female and male bodies are painted aesthetically to the given theme.
The World Bodypainting Festival in Seeboden is the first of its kind in the world and has become the Mecca of Bodypainting.



Workshop- and demonstration program / from 13th – 16th July 2009
The WBF Academy organizes workshops that are sponsored by our partners like Kryolan, Brennig, Paradise AQ by Mehron, MAC Cosmetics,Fantasy Worldwide, Diamond FX, KauPo, Kerling International, ED Bodypaint Pro, to mention a few.
Only the best in their professions teach the classes. And because you never finish learning, the workshops offer possibilities not only for beginners, also for advanced artists to further their knowledge. Group arrangements for schools can be organized on request. We offer workshops in the areas of bodypainting, airbrush bodypainting, facepainting,special effects, body deco, beauty make up, uv effects as well as photography and digital artwork.

BodyCircus - the fantasy ball in the castle
The medieval castle “Burg Sommeregg” will transform for the "BodyCircus" fantasy ball into a mystical fairy tale location with guests arriving in costume ranging from Bodypainting, body decoration and masks, to extreme make-up and fantasy fashion. There is also an astounding style presentation as well as three levels of music, international DJ’s, shows, costume prizes and entertainment. The ‘Body circus’ promises to be an evening of magic, pushing boundaries and letting imagination run free.
The festival main days in the "Bodypaint-CITY"
from 17 - 19 July 2009:
The main days of the festival are from Friday to Sunday, 17 - 19 July. The artists start painting in the public park and later in the day the artwork is judged by a professional jury. The models are then presented to the audience on the massive stage. During the day lots of music and show acts are presented. There are music concerts on program till late. World Bodypainting Awards, the world championships for bodypainting artits
At the world championships during the main days artists from 40 nations worldwide compete. There are two themes given for each, the pre-selection and the final day. The World Awards are presented in the categories:
- Brush/Sponge
- Airbrush
- Special Effects Bodypainting
- Fluoro Effects
- Facepainting
as well as the special category
- Special Effects Make up
The Amateur Awards are the category for students and hobby bodypainting artists.
