There’s a brandnew record out now - Börn & Mika Vember “Fame & Success”.
We recorded this collection of very simple songs during one week in February 09. Having been involved in the production of several albums for other artists, that took ages – some are not even released yet – I felt the urge to do something simple and quick. Mika and I met on 6 evenings, played, sang, drank & had fun. I even did the mixing myself. We added the opening track in April. Katharina Kessler did some nice photography and Oskar Kubinecz – as always – the beautiful artwork for the sleeve. All this felt – and still feels so good, and it reminded me of what it actually means to play and sing.
It would be nice to meet you at one of our shows.
By the way, my novel "Zeit Der Idioten" is going to be published through the very nice Milena Verlag, Wien in September 2009. Hurra!

bei bettina sehen wir uns leider nicht, muss in münchen interviews absolvieren, ist ein bissl ein scheiß-timing. hmpf. ich hoffe, Dein buch kommt heute oder morgen, das letzte gute buch ist schon wieder 2 monate her, ich verhungere schon... ;)
hab' mir grad Dein buch bei milena bestellt und kann's kaum erwarten, endlich meinen rüssel reinzustecken. freu mich drauf! viel spaß beim präsentieren! clara.

Funny, I just posted something on Facebook about my favorite childhood memories that were of times when I could just disappear to go exploring. I satisfied my endless curiosity on my own terms and in my own good time. I learned to assess dangerous situations and I learned common sense... I was so independent that I would have hated to be smothered all the time. But then, I suffered from no real tragedies... So it's easy to say...
I'm not sure I would have wondered taken the public transportation on my own at midnight in Vienna all the time if I didn't feel that in general, it was a safe city... I would have taken cabs to get home at night...
Besides, I have to learn to defend myself once in a while... Again, easy to say because nothing really tragic happened...
