Trumpeter Jim Bohm and saxophonist Ken Witman present their debut CD, a groove-oriented jazz recording that utilizes a combination of fiery intensity and smooth melodicism to arouse one’s senses. Bohm and Witman have succeeded in blending various styles of jazz to produce a beautiful yet striking tonal landscape. Providing the harmonic structure and rhythmic backdrop are bassist Jerry Livingston and guitarist Kenny Hawkins (veterans of Rick James’ Stone City Band), along with drummer Dejuaine "DMott" Motley and keyboardist Wade Hawkins. Produced by Jim Bohm and Jack Kulp, this recording features guest appearances by Maynard Ferguson alumnus Bruce Johnstone on baritone saxophone, Nikki Hicks on vocals, Jack Kulp on bass, Russ D’Alba on alto saxophone, Bob Meier on trombone, Al Monti on tenor saxophone, and Harry Fackelman on baritone saxophone.
