The Boiler Room is an independent recording studio located in Daybrook, Nottingham.
Founded and managed by musicians, for musicians, we've created a space you will want to play music in. In collaboration with some of Nottingham's finest sound engineers, we can ensure that your music is produced the way you want it, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
The Boiler Room has a large homely live room (18.5m² (4.5m x 4.1m) big enough to
record up to a 7 piece band with drum kit and amps etc.
* Hard disk recording up to 24bit/96KHz.
* An amazing 24:8:2 GS3 Allen & Heath analogue console.
* Monitoring with the amazing Mackie HR824 active monitors.
* AKG, Audio Technica, Electrovoice, Neumann, Rode and Shure microphones.
* Software includes: Logic Audio, Sound Forge, CD
Architect (Red Book CD mastering etc.)
* Virtual Instruments include: ESX24 sampler (with banks of drums, Hammond, Moog’s,
Korg, EMU, and Rhodes etc.)
* Full spectrasonics and Native Instruments range.

The Boiler Room has some of the finest engineers who have worked with top producers who have had number one hits in this country.
James Tolhurst (composer and musician) and John Davies (producer/engineer) have been working professionally for 10 and 15 years respectively. Their work has covered a wide range of styles including funk, dance, drum and bass, chill-out, dub, reggae, folk, world music and hip hop. They have also worked in educational settings providing workshops for children and disadvantaged teenagers, and scores for educational films.
