Who I'd like to meet:
Boise Queer Idol is back, helping the Treasure Valley celebrate Boise Pride 2008.
In the pop culture tradition of American Idol, Boise Queer Idol gives musical hopefuls the chance to showcase their talents for a wild and enthusiastic Humpin' Hannah's crowd as well as our three honored judges. Hosted by Rocci Johnson and Jeff McKinnon, this year's contest is sure to be a hella good time!
On Thursday, June 12th, each contestant will perform a song of his/her choice from the Humpin' Hannahs karaoke catalog, competing for a cash prize, a chance to perform at the Pride Festival on June 14th, and of course bragging rights as Boise's own Queer Idol!
Registration begins at 7 pm and the contest will kick off at 8. Thursday night will culminate in the announcement of the five finalists chosen to perform on Saturday, June 14th center stage at the Boise Pride Festival in Ann Morrison Park.
Contestants and audience participants alike can all purchase VIP and General Admission tickets and pay and signup to compete, selecting from Hannah's song selection, online at www.BoiseQueerIdol.com
BOISE QUEER IDOL ENTRY FORM & SONG SELECTIONS
Fees and Proceeds
• $20 Minimum Donation for competitors will fund the cash prize for the first place contestant, which will be awarded at the Pride Festival.
• $5 Entrance Admission for audience members will be split between Common Ground and Boise Pride, LLC.
• Common Ground will be selling Boise Queer Idol t-shirts, the proceeds of which will go back into the choir's operating budget to fund future events, concerts, and community involvement.
• Common Ground members are currently seeking a big ticket item or prize package to be given away as a door prize to a lucky audience member.

• Common Ground is a Boise community chorus devoted to the expansion, perfection, rehearsal, and performance of high quality standard, popular, and contemporary choral music.
• We are committed to celebrating diversity in the Treasure Valley, welcoming and recognizing people from all walks of life through song.
• Common Ground produces three major concerts each season and performs at a variety of community events, such as the Martin Luther King Day celebration at the Idaho Black History Museum.
• The Boise Queer Idol contest is Common Ground's largest and most successful fundraising venture; the funds generated from the contest pay for music, performance venues, our membership in other community organizations, rehearsal space, etc.
