Bojangled came together for the first time in November 2008, they played their first gig later that month. The months of december and january seen the fledgling band iron out their live set and hustle some free recording time for a self produced first demo on the back of which they received airplay on local radio.
The band mix dancie beats and grooves with bouncy basslines and spiky riffs. This forms a tasty template for the clever lyrics to seek out a melody. They are fast developing a unique sound rooted in witty wordplay and a vibrant colourful blend of hip-hop,dance,r & b, ska all mashed up under the guise of an indy guitar band.
2009 seen the band gig relentlessly with appearances in Whelans, The Village, Think Thank and Dorans among other venues. Roughly one gig a week since february has seen the band clocking up appearances alongside many established Irish acts such as The Red Labels, The Hassle Merchants and Ebo. Constantly plotting their next move, Bojangled pride themselves on their hard work ethic and are currently in pre-production forr their debut E.P. which will be released early in 2010.
Recently the band performed an acoustic number for 02's Blueroom Tv filmed in the Indigo Lounge of the 02 arena which featured on the same ebisode as Metro Station and Leonard Cohen. Check it out at http://blueroom.o2online.ie/O2-Blueroom-TV/Episode-53-Leonard-Cohen-Metro-Station-Bojangled.aspx
