I love kora music from Mali, Guinea and Senegambia Mandinka kora and the kora upstarts like Ba Cissoko. I am enchanted by Ba Cissoko right now..

I want to get out more to see more modern movies.
I like movies from other countries like Asian, African, sometimes French, and Middle Eastern films.

I use a lot of reference books in studying the above mentioned topics.
I like folklore,
spiritual books.
Books on Sufism mostly from our lineage of Spiritual Liberty by Hazrat Inayat Khan.
Poetry- Rumi, Hafiz, Saadi, and beat poets. I really like to hear poetry so audio stuff is cool.
I do love many children's books.. Bourriguita and the Coyote...Iktomi and the Bolder...

Heros of mine.
All parents who love and try their best to nurture their kids. Parents WHO REALLlY CARE about their kids.
Teachers- teachers who are good. Teachers who know how to take kids where they need to go by facilitating and not by dictatorship. Teachers who live and practice democracy and enterprise, creativity, community and contribution in their classrooms.
Musicians who really focus on learning and getting good.
Many of My teachers are my heroes.
I look up to them.
I want to learn from them.
These teachers also impart not by totalitarianism but by their influencial beings.

Beyond all the external I am a soul trying to make her way through this life
with love, harmony, and beauty.

At 48...49 I am feeling very much "in transition."
Very central to my life is the practice of universal sufism.
I float in between and find that "the way" is not to be dictated.
The way is waylessness.
I try to live in the moment and touch the moment and learn from the moment
and that becomes my way.
I am a a mother of 1 daughter, 29. My Beloved, my soul mate, helpmate in this life and probably before now,
She came in with a knowing and smiling quiet face
I teach small children. I love kids. They are so alive. So there!
Being a mother and a teacher of young children has and is teaching me constantly.
I love to dance.
I do dances of universal peace and
then I also love to dance to Congolese music older like from the 70s and 80s.
I study qigong.
I study feng shui and astrology.
I paint, write and play around with collectibles.
I am a part- time evening and weekend massage therapist basically operating in "whim" state. I do love to work on people who really want a good massage but am a bit disillusioned at the number of men who seem to think massage is just a sex trade or has to be topped off with a "happy ending.".eeeeyuck!!! and also am extremely disillusioned with the men and women who are out there providing those services in the name of "massage." Somehow i will find my way in the massage/body work world, far far away from those folks.

I agree with you wholeheartedly about the dandelions. What could be more beautiful than these? There is an annoying tv commercial running, where they insist that they don't want to be the "bad neighbor on their block" and so they should spread suchandsuch-brand poison as rapidly and as often as possible. It just makes me want to sink when I hear this. I don't understand this compulsion to make our lawns look like the English countryside, or whatever it is people are trying to duplicate. Oh well, I will add this to the list of things I don't understand. : }
