We are looking for a Bollocks to Poverty Tour Ambassador to come backstage at this summer's festivals, chat to some bands, write some blogs about it and then organise the mother of all Christmas parties for our amazing tour organisers.
Laurent from Gallows and live music gurus Gigwise thought it sounded like fun, so they are helping us find the winner. All you need to do is prove your devotion to the Bollocks to Poverty message by organising an event wherever you are and sharing the experience with the world.
We’re ActionAid’s cheeky little sister (big sis is an international charity that works in the world’s poorest countries) We don’t think ending poverty is just about chucking a few coins in a bucket, sending food parcels or feeling guilty. It’s about fighting injustice. ActionAid believes all humans have equal rights to food, education, security, healthcare and freedom of opinion. And where this isn’t a reality, we work with the people affected to change things, for good.
You can do things a bit differently with Bollocks to Poverty. You don’t need to put on coffee mornings or cake sales, you can do what you love doing. Whatever you’re into you can support people fighting their way out of poverty. Shake a tin at your mates and they might chuck you a pound, but throw them a party and they’ll feel inspired to do much more.
Whether you put on a gig, jump out of a plane, pester your MP or volunteer at a festival, say Bollocks to Poverty and do it with ActionAid.

to be honest in this day in age there shouldnt even be any poverty. so its obvious that geldof and all the bullshitters havent done anything apart from make themselves rich. so in all fairness i dont care anymore about 3rd world charities because they have proved to do NOTHING.

LAST EVER GIG AT THE ROYAL OAK AS IT IS SHUTTING DOWN!!! Stacked Promotions Battle of the Bands 2009 Heat 2 at the Royal Oak 20th June. Come vote for you favorite band or just come for a good time. The third heat 3rd July and 25th July final will be held at the YMCA Halifax and its bring your own booze.
