Previously known as Bollywood Grooves Canada, DHA is committed to spreading the love for Bollywood and Bhangra dance throughout the world.
Director, Lopa Sarkar, has worked with the BBC, MTV (Europe and America), Club Med, and the New York Film Academy. Her dancers have performed on stage with Malaika Aurora, Raghav, and Malkit Singh. She has taught globally including places such as London, Wales, the Bahamas, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico.
Lopa's style is described as urban fusion funk. Taking her main flavour from Bollywood music, she combines the beauty and grace from classical Indian dance, the fierceness and energy of Bhangra, the passion of Latin, the groove from Street/HipHop and the spice of Middle Eastern dance.
DHA is the home of 'BollymeetsBelly' which is where Bollywood meets Bellydance. And we are thrilled to introduce our newest creation: Tribal Grooves. Come meet the darker and earthier side... Tribal Bellydance meets classical Indian dance technique.
