Movies
La Haine (Hate) is one of my favourite films, as is Blazing Saddles for entirely different reasons. I like real guys films but stop short at all that Seagal/Van Damme/Chuck Norris stuff. Star Wars, Lord Of the Rings, Matrix as well as Goodfellas, Heat, Casino would all make the Top 20. Sexy Beast is a great movie. The black and white classics of Hindi Cinema are always worth watching on a rainy weekend in, they are beautifully shot films. before you become immersed in modern day bollywood re-visit Mother India, Sujatha and the epic Mughal E Azam. Slumdog Millionaire was incredible.
Television
The WIRE is one of the best things to ever happen to TV. Family Guy, the Simpsons, Eastenders when I can. Law & Order SVU, The Daily Show, Letterman, Jonathan Ross, Run's House, Harry Hill's TV Burp.
Books
Because of my BBC Asian Network show I am lucky enough to receive a lot of books. Everything from novels, to biographies and giant historical tomes. I love reading but never finish them. Malcolm Gladwell's Outliers and another book called Shantaram.
Heroes
My father! Everyone else is an advisor, he was the light.
About me: I'm a Tottenham Hotspur supporting, Gemini of Sri Lankan descent who just happens to have an Asian Music Show on BBC Radio 1, and my own little clubnight called Bombay Bronx (first Monday of the month at the Notting Hill Arts Club in west london). I love what I do and I love music. Simple really.
Hey Nihal, hows it going? Hope all is well with you - could you please take a second to check out a few new tracks of mine - "Wanna Buck" which is a crazy rock tip (I feature on the opening verse) and "Ma Money" which is the official remix featuring Dap-C & Lil Wayne (Bobby played it during his Introducing segment)
I would really appreciate your feedback and hope you like the vibes :) Thanks for all your support and hopefully we can meet one day!
