About B.O.M.B. Fest….Bring Our Music Back Festival
Hello my name is Frank Bombaci Jr,
I am a senior at the Lyme/Old Lyme High School in Connecticut and I have a dream. . .
For my senior class project, my dream is to develop and produce a fun-filled festival celebrating art and music brought together on stage produced through High School talent, to “Bring Our Music Back” celebrated at the outdoor amphitheater at Harkness Memorial State Park, located on the southeastern shores of Long Island Sound in Waterford Connecticut.
The focal point of my vision is to combine great national recording artists of different musical genres in collaboration with the best in High School and undiscovered talent from around the State to Bring Our Music Back as a rooted performing arts discipline sustainable as an art form veering away from “pop commercialism”. Thus, with the creation of B.O.M.B Fest, I hope to begin an annual celebration to Bring Our Music Back to its roots and true art form.
In collaboration with SoundMusic Inc, I will stage an all Day music festival inviting all high school kids and their families from around the state to support the event as well as music lovers everywhere. My goal is to raise funds for SoundMusic CT, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing summer music back to Harkness Park, and Make-a-Wish Foundation, a truly amazing organization who really do make dreams become a reality for a lot of kids in need. All proceeds from my event will be donated to these two great charities. This multi-stage concert will be held on June 13, 2009 from 4pm-11:30pm.
In general the mission of B.O.M.B. Fest is to showcase local high school and undiscovered talent in conjunction with national acts. This mission will bring music back away from the overly competitive music industry. This showcase of art and music will give undiscovered talent a great opportunity for their work to be seen and heard. All proceeds of this event are going to support SoundMusic CT and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
In creating this festival, I wanted to include as many types of musical genres as possible. The genres span rock, musical theatre, a cappella, blues, roots, reggae, alternative, folk, hip/hop, classical, contemporary, and everything in between.
I hope to see you all there Saturday June 13th 2009 from 4PM to 12AM, rain or shine, in Waterford Connecticut for a wonderful day of art and music at it’s finest!
