Formed in a laboratory in van Diemen’s Land in Australia’s deep south, Bone Rattlers are the creation of the evil professor ‘Sheik Rattle and Roll’. After many years of experimentation and the sacrifice of countless beings the time was right to release his latest creation onto the streets of Hobart. In mid 2007 they hit the burgeoning Hobart psychobilly/rockabilly scene with a few loose, but well received shows consisting of mainly covers, this gave the evil professor a platform from which to work upon. He then took his boys back to the lab for some fine tuning and some time to create some original music, and was now ‘ready to roll, muah hah hah hah’ . Consisting of ‘Madman’ Mick Paine on the Gretsch and lead vocals, ‘Rotten’ Robbie on the upright bass and 'Demon' Daniel Bastin on stand up drums and vocals, Bone Rattlers began performing regularly in Hobart’s best known night spots and before too long had gained a reputation for their hi-energy, fast-paced shows! With quite a few performances under their belt and a following of their own, ‘Sheik Rattle and Roll’ decided it was time to lock his creation away not to be released until they had an EP in hand. In early 2008 they emerged with their debut EP ‘Step Inside’ and began gigging again and showing it to whoever would listen. The EP is a cracker and has earned the trio some airplay on Australia’s best known radio network Triple J. Since then, Bone Rattlers have gone beyond the shores of Tasmania for some live performances, most notably, playing at ‘Greazefest 2008’ in Brisbane. So whether you’re an old school greaser, a young punk, or just an everyday bogan, get along to a Bone Rattlers show and go CRAZY!!!
